On the other hand, my sister told me about a time where she was being annoyed by a cat getting in the way, and a moth flying in front of her. …Then the cat ate the moth. =3
Tip for all early decorators! To keep that pumpkin from molding over and not surviving Halloween – wash it (inside and out) in bleach water! Best to do it right after you have finished carving it!
“Miracle Max: Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your spider friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There’s a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there’s usually only one thing you can do.”
Speaking of Halloween, Marie and I don’t know if we are going to get any trick-or-treaters this year? Or, if we do, how many? The stupid virus has upset yet another apple cart. Furthermore, do we really want to get close to so many kids? Alexandria is trying to design a candy-cannon (similar to a potato-gun, but it will shoot pre-filled bags of candy). I pointed out that parents might not be happy if their kids can get the Purple Heart for trick-or-treating at our house. Alex’s point is you have to earn your candy, especially this year, and if that means coming under friendly fire, so be it.
My cat once brought in a six-inch-high toy doll. I have no idea where she got it or what she thought it was. She still drags it out once in a while and carries it around by its hair. (Was there a mini-Catnip-Barbie?)
My virtual talk on ghost stories and the ghosts of BCN will be at 7pm eastern time/4pm pacific time today! Email Cross Mills Public Library at staff@crossmills.org by noon for an invitation to the Zoom call! Hope to virtually see you there!
National Cheese Curd Day —This is a religious holiday in Wisconsin …
National Roast Pheasant Day —Pheasant, not Peasant … and they are really grousing about it.
National Pug Day —In honor of a dog that is more like a cat than it is like a dog: "… often nap, sometimes sleeping up to 14 hours a day. They tend to be strong-willed but usually aren’t aggressive. Their temperament is also usually playful, and they like to follow their owners around; they tend to “talk” to their owners more than bark." They also snore—and it’s all humans’ fault.
National Edible Mushroom Day —Also sacred to hobbits. Mushrooms and Bacon is a traditional holiday dish in our household, and we have a passion for mushrooms almost as great as that of hobbits. My wife even raised shitake mushrooms for a time. Fungi are fun food.
National Grouch Day —Everyone can be a grouch at times … grumpy, irritable, cranky, and pessimistic. But if you choose to be a pessimist, it probably won’t work. Don’t grouse about it. That’s the pheasants’ job.
O.T. Just an amazing story. A man on the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) was worried about the dogs and cats in his shelter as Hurricane Delta approached. He thought his home was more secure so he moved over 300 dogs and cats plus a few others such as a hedge hog into his home!!! Happily it all worked out but I am so amazed. I love animals but I don’t know if I could do anything like that! https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/300-dogs-and-other-animals-sheltered-inside-mans-home-in-mexico-during-hurricane-delta/ar-BB1a4qUH?ocid=msedgdhp

Why. Why would you have that over your fireplace.
…hide it outside in the yard, only visible from certain angles, to scare passersby! Obviously! What’s wrong with you? XD
McColl34 Premium Member about 4 years ago
Ah yes, I think we’ve all been owned by, or at least know, a spider catcher.
(Most cats seem to find them irresistible, although I’ve had at least one who ended up on antibiotics due to not killing it quickly enough.)

Spectacular catch, indeed! Are you sure it’s dead, though? (Its eyes still seem to be glowing!)

This I just find so funny…You gotta love that Goldie wants to stuff it and remount it over the mantle. Picture of Goldie in panel 3 is priceless!

Does the Woman usually address Goldie as Lady?
Strob about 4 years ago
I’m glad it’s literally larger than life and not “actual size.”
catmom1360 about 4 years ago
Nice that the Woman calls Goldie, Lady. It’s sweet and loving.

Speaking of large spiders, has anyone seen from the live one from a while back? I even checked the frames of the panels today in case it was around.

It was on the mantel, but Goldie wants to hang it over the fireplace? Pretty sure it’s already stuffed, so there shouldn’t be a problem.

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Welcome, Arachna and Maat-Tilda. What delights do you bring from the Royal Sewing Room?
Arachna: We have created a new material from spider silk. It is soft, strong, and we have figured out how not to make it sticky.
The Queen: And how do you intend to use this new material?
Lupinium: I can use it for stunts in my acts.
Arachna: We spiders plan to make bags for putting the Spider Treats in.
Puckmosis: Great! We will use this new fabric for Tricks or Treats!
