I bet Earl has no trouble carrying a knapsack let alone a purse.

When my wife does that and if another guy is looking at me I say, “I know…it does not go with what I’m wearing.” That usually gets a sympathetic chuckle. :-)

I think it is more embarrassing where Earl put it!

I’ve been in that position. It made me glad to have pockets so I don’t have to truck one of those around.

Why would she have him hold her purse? I shop alone by choice and take my purse in the dressing room with me.

I usually balance it on my head and stick sparklers in my ears.

For some reason, though, nobody seems to want me to hold their purse anymore.

And once again Opal is embarrassed taking Earl along.

Holding a purse…When a wedding ring just won’t do.

What’s wrong? He’s just using it as a fanny pack!

Bad idea Earl ! Opal leave Earl in the car next time ;-)

You may want to have that purse cleaned, Opal!

Own it Earl! Maybe browse a few dresses while you’re waiting and give the busybodies pause.

C’mon, a man embarrassed to hold on to a woman’s purse? It’s not 1956. The real joke is how heavy they are. I have to hold my wife’s under my arm like a football. By the time she’s done, my shoulder hurts. I’d swear she’s carrying around a bag of nickels.

It doesn’t go with your shoes.

I think that Earl shoving the purse down his pants is even more embarrassing.

Earl that is worse, you got tired of holding Opal purse.

In university there was a jock who thought carrying a “man purse” made him look cool and sophisticated. Us girls all thought it made him look like an idiot.

Will Brian allow Opal to have a dress that is not dotted lavender??

Next, it’s off to shop for a new purse.

In my 45 years of marriage, I’ve held my wife’s purse outside of many dressing rooms. When ever someone would come by; I would just ask them if they thought the purse went with my outfit.

A man who is confident of his masculinity doesn’t feel shame in holding his Lady’s purse because he doesn’t care what the other fools may think about it.

Of course, it sticking out of your caboose is just ducky!

Every place where that has come up when I was out with my wife … there were pretty obvious “husband chairs” and usually more than one of us sitting there holding a purse.

We once went to a concert (“The Dead”, 2004; the tour with Jimmy Herring playing lead & Joan Osbourne singing his parts) with our middle son & his wife. The D.I.L. was in the Port-O-Let & Sonny was holding her purse; the whole time he got constant positive remarks from those of the XX chromo persuasion.

Get with the times Earl.. Lots of men in Europe carry purses and the fashion is moving to America.. mostly by the gay.. but still.

Earl, get over it.

But then we guys get the knowing look from the others who are also holding their wive’s purses. That band of brothers with a common cause/infliction….

It’s about time for the male bustle.

Now you know why old geezers wear pants with elastic tops.

I hope Opal buys that dress, she needs something new. :)

Scott Adams says there should be special large “purse pliers” so men could hold their wives’ purses without catching purse cooties.

I have been married for 42 years. Early on, it may have seemed embarrassing to hold my wife’s, but I got over that many years ago.

I wouldn’t want that purse back! Ewwww….

And How is that better?

Because that’s not embarrassing at all!

If I was Pearl I’m not sure I would want it back.
