I’ve met some people who seem to get 5 times as much work/play done as the rest of us. Generally they’re hyper focused, and extremely brusque. I prefer being a little sloppy…
You’ll work better if you study for 30 minutes at a time or so. I found myself productive, when I forced myself to work for 30 minutes. This got me “in the zone” and I could get a lot more done without getting distracted.
I have a story idea for a world in which every man, woman, and child alive each gets one superpower. My main character’s power is that he only needs .001 seconds of sleep per day.As a child, I dreamed of being strong enough to lift buildings, running faster than a Ferrari, or flying. Now I dream of having more time in the day. (Also, I have frequent and sometimes brutal insomnia, hence another reason sleep has become a topic of interest for me and why I’m posting this at 4:30 in the morning.)
They say the lack of sleep will make you a raving narcissist with a God complex who will tell a lie and instantly believe that it’s the truth and then compel others to also believe it and also turn your skin orange…well that’s what they say.
All that crap about losing or gaining an hour is pure BS. It is nothing more than a control feature for businesses. I’m retired. I don’t care what the clock says, I’ll sleep when I’m tired and be out and about whenever I feel the urge. And I don’t watch tv, so I don’t care.
I pulled that once back in my twenties. Stayed up for 72 hours straight, well, longer than that really. Wasn’t intending to stay up that long, wasn’t even intending to stay up for twenty-four hours. Wen’t to bed that first night and picked up the book I was reading to get in a chapter or two before I fell asleep. Next thing I knew, it was six in the morning and I couldn’t sleep. Would promise myself I’d sleep over the next couple of nights and found myself too busy to sleep for various reasons. By the time I went to bed on the fourth night I just collapsed
Gotta credit Pig with some ambition here. But that plan of his will only work for a short time. After that, sheer exhaustion kicks in. Pig will sleep then for at least a full day….
You expect to get ahead working only 8 hours? Silly pig. Take a speed-reading course and knock that 3 hours of reading down to 1 – that will give you two more hours to work. We all assume that you live and eat at your desk so there’s no commute time wasted.

Turn all those 2 and 3 hours into 15 and 30 minutes and you might actually accomplish something.

If you sleep half the time you’re reading, half the time you’re working and half the time you’re meditating, you can get plenty of sleep time.
