If the internet is down that’s the least of your problems. When a winter storm ices up your windmills, snow covers your solar panels and all you’ve got is your cell phone battery pack to charge up your Tesla – is that what’s troubling you bunky? Lift your head up high and take a walk in the sun. And never give up, never give up… that ship!!!
That’s why IT people are on the list of critical infrastructure personal. Whoda thunk the nerds would make such a difference. …actually, everyone I suppose. (Yeah, I’m a nerd) OORAH!, dam it.
and for those geniuses that in some places want to make all payments digital, welcome to a time when even if you have the cash and the item is available in front of you, you won’t be able to pay for it
You will need to show shopkeepers and others selling goods and services the order printed on US paper money that states in capital letters: “THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE” no period or exclamation point is included. I wonder how far a complaint to an entity such as the FCC would go.
I have slow speed, 10.3 GB data here (in the mountains) and no cell service. It wasn’t a consideration when I moved here 44 years ago! Still wouldn’t be, I love the peace and tranquility of nature and wild animals, safe community feel.

Currently, there are no Twitter, Reddit, Tik Tok, Instagram, Whatsup, or Facebook posts. No internet, no fake news or social bullying.

The second message – unhelpful and unnecessary.
Put a positive “spin” on it: “The Internet is down and All is Very Well.”

Didn’t I see this same cartoon in the Wizard of Id Classics?

I think that there might be some couples in ID that wouldn’t care or notice because they’re engaged in other activities…

I started with a Commodore 64, a 300 baud modem and logged onto “bulletin boards”. That was in the early 80’s.
