For Rat, being busy means that he’s talking. Ergo, he gets depressed when he’s not jabbering away.

I have two questions about this strip.

First, doesn’t keeping busy at least require some people to think? If you’re an engineer, or doctor, or teacher, or any of numerous professions, thinking is pretty much required.

Second, is the wise ass implying that he doesn’t think? Can you become wise without thinking?
