So, if I understand this right, Honeymoon doesn’t think it would be polite to bother Mysta on her honeymoon (in case she’s really on one) and Junior was about to tell Honeymoon not to be so nosy as to disturb Mysta.

I’d thought it odd earlier that Mysta brought up being programmed to think of Junior as her “Ideal Man, curiously Chekhovian in terms of story placement.

When did Sparkle die her hair brown?

Junior and Sparkle got a quick hair-dye job since yesterday.

A new load of brown hair dye arrived at the Plenty-Tracy household. Sparkle and Junior, along with III, have finished their new doos, Honeymoon is up next.

Now what? Will Tracy take the initiative and investigate? He’s a great detective and he should suspect that something’s wrong. It’s just out of character for Mysta to do something so impulsive and Tracy has worked on hunches before.

That is a really nice natural looking scene with the kids. I can only guess how much Shelley must have loved finishing Joe’s doodles today.

A nice quiet calm suburban morning. How long will it last ?

Oh, and I’d like tell y’all that I got a copy of The Complete Dick Tracy Volume 1. I got it through Amazon, though it actually came from a brick-and-mortar book store in Virginia. It’s not mint, but it is considered “very good.” It still has the dust jacket, but a few page corners are bent over. It cost nearly $45, including sales tax and shipping. This volume is so rare, Amazon had no new copies.

As for the book itself, it’s a heavy thing, about 3 pounds. The strips are printed flawlessly, in order, naturally. Tracy looked different then, very ordinary and he didn’t have that distinctive nose. TV Tropes calls this “Early installment weirdness.”

The Sundays are not colored, except for a number of them in the back of the book with their own continuity. I’m a bit disappointed; I expected all the Sundays to be in color. Overall, though, I think I got my money’s worth. I wanted to see early Tracy and I definitely got that. I don’t know at this time what other volumes I’ll get, if any.

Y’all think maybe Honeymoon is telling a fib in panel 3? She thought yesterday that she didn’t believe it. I bet she has every intention of contacting Mysta. She just doesn’t want her parents to know so they won’t worry when she goes off on her own. I know that some people don’t want to see that, but that’s how I figure it. Maybe Mike will surprise us. It’s possible!

Musta had to get rid of the brown ink this week

BROWN HAIR?!?!?!! Who is this obvious imposter, and how does he fit into the mad collector’s sinister plans?! To fine out, tune in tomorrow. Same Tracy time, same Tracy channel!

Yet another day of, if you can‘t color it right, please, just give it to us in black-and-white!

As for the story, it‘s kind of hard to go off the rails if you can‘t get it out of the station.

Though I do kind of agree with JJ1957 above, Honeymoon is about to do another Scooby-Doo intervention.

Honeymoon is not going to check on Mysta…gee she and her family do believe what they read in the paper.

The coloring is as sloppy as the story, why would anyone think differently. Neil missed this? I’m stunned, but great summary of what we can read ourselves due. Re Jab Jr. What you got is the IDW Dick Tracy series..29 books, last one just came out. Great Dick Tracy stuff during the Gould Golden Age. Compare it to this latest drivel and you’ll probably be sad.

Mysta and Vera are going to be hostages a bit longer.

Junior and Sparkle have another daughter, Jewel, who only makes rare appearances as do Tess, Joe Tracy, BO, and Attitude. Sigh . . . .

I wish the weekday colorist would at least try to get the hair colors right. Other than Honeymoon’s hair, the rest look like members of the Walton family.,

Well, so much for Honeymoon coming to the rescue.

OK, I remember from a long time ago that Junior Tracy was married to Moon Maid and they produced Honeymoon. I didn’t read this strip for a long time, but now it appears that Junior has a new wife and kid. What did I miss?

Who is that brown-haired guy? —Everyone knows that the real Junior Tracy has bright red hair (except, apparently, the Mad Colorist)! —And that brown-haired woman? —Everyone knows that Sparkle Plenty Tracy has blonde hair (except, apparently the Mad Colorist)!

I think I’ve made my point in that regard.

Today’s strip makes things look DoublePlus Ungood for telepathic transmission leading to the rescue of Mysta and that jerk. Maybe Honeymoon has in mind to do something on her own? Not a very good idea, I think. Junior and all the family should realize that Mysta and Vile are not on their honeymoon, if that’s the privacy issue Junior is citing in panel 3….
