We all need to set goals for ourselves. My goal is to keep playing pickleball until it no longer sounds funny.

He is SOOOO not ready to retire. But then, many men never really do. They just change what they do to make money.

Pity that the last two forces [at least so far] were not discovered and named after anyone famous — Strong & Weak …. Oh, please!

We keep trying for symmetry, unification, and balance in our explanations of the universe but always encounter anomalies e.g. gravity.

One reason you could never find the theroy which explains everything, GOPQANON. YepToo bad we did not keep our 2,500 troops in Afghanistan to bolster the 300,000 *&^%ing cowardly Afghan soldiers, we spent 2.4 trillion in that sand pile and that was only as of 2017, who knows how much more….what a stimulus that would have made…..wait until the Taliban invite Al Qaeda back to the party….coming soon.

I’ve read Doonesbury since the start. We are SUCH a long way from “Mike Doonesbury, BMOC.” ..sigh… but GT is still at the top of his game! Thanks for all of the years of sweat making great and thought provoking entertainment!

Thank you for the cogent advice! Clearly, I am also not ready to retire. :-) Yet, I do find myself starting to give thought to the next chapter of my life when I am ready to transition.

I’m sort of stuck in that pre-retirement limbo myself. I keep asking myself, “What am I going to do?” So far I have answered myself, “Not yet.”

Retirement was the best career move I ever made.

There are far worse monuments, Bernie.

Think about this….how many men do you know or have heard about, that retired and died shortly after retirement? In some cases, I think they got bored to death.

Can it be retrofitted nasally?

We’ll never really be able to come up with a mathematical equation to express the true Theory of Everything because there are just too many Factors that we can’t perceive much less calculate how they impact everything else.

They may come up with a reasonable estimate using some constant fudge factor. But since nothing is truly permanent they’ll always have to change that and just as soon as they do, it’ll change again in ways they didn’t expect.

I dated a woman with a similar desire. She would describe at length how she would create a theory of everything and make it understandable to the common person. I applauded her ambition but pointed out that I have trouble conveying the concept of toast to the common person.

Mike has been so corrupted.

If it could be monetized, Capitalist would have identified it, patented it, monopolized it, and marketed it last century.

Not everything worth doing is for money. And not every joy can be bought. You used to understand that, Mike. Then somewhere along the way you suddenly remembered you were American.
