I have to admit I have considered it, wondering how far it would run, but I don’t think I’m capable of coming up with things crazy enough that people would believe them, without being worried about the consequences.
I honestly believe a lot of the crazier memes did get started as a joke. You have to clearly mark sarcasm because it just isn’t that obvious in print. I have had outraged people send me articles which turned out to be from “The Onion” a well-known parody site, Please be careful, know your audience, mark jokes and sarcasm. You may be saving a life.
Dr. Mel is exercising the socialists’ actual Big Lie, except the theory was if the claim is outrageous enough, people will think it’s true – nobody would dare lie that audaciously.
Wearing silly hats will prevent Covid IF other people avoid those wearing silly hats. Don’t get close can’t catch or spread it. Also living in a cave should work too.
It embarrasses me to post this, but our US Representative actually tweeted a story about Biden denying Veteran’s Affairs benefits to unvaccinated people from a satiric website that had a disclaimer stating that everything on the site was made up and therefore not true. She then tweeted that if this is true it is insane.
I think we should be investigating Hydroxychloroquine, Ivremectin, and others in conjunction with vitamin D, zinc, etc., as well as encouraging people to get vaccines if they don’t have natural immunity and don’t have a true health or religious reason not to, but there certainly is some way far-out stuff on the internet. Unfortunately, some of it is from more-or-less official sources who seem to be ignoring the actual data and are trying to make us think that COVID is decimating all age groups, and that masks are going to make a major difference in the long run.

This “cure” has already been tried. Three Fox News commentators already got people believing that a worm medicine can cure Covid.

But then I’m not a Fox News commentator.

I believe the American public was much more intelligent and better informed before the advent of social media. I’m just saying.
