Truthfully, I don’t want people to die but they really did bring this on themselves by not getting the vaccines that Der Leader kickstarted but failed to promote.

A couple died of covid, leaving five children behind. A relative says people called their deaths ‘fake news.’

“Doesn’t killing right-wing celebs hurt your long game?” You’d think. But no. You’d also think playing Russian roulette with your loved ones would be an unpopular game, but it’s not. You’d also think doing Putin’s dirty work would be off limits. But it’s all on brand for the new Republicans.

I know the die is cast and shots are norm, but I wonder if we had concentrated on making pills or nasal spray to provide the medicine. The anti-vaxers would have no traction and people could just take their own pills or snort their own protection and that’s on them.

It appears that the Powell comment has been adequately answered. His immune system was weak and he was infected by someone who had the ability to spread the virus.

Those who don’t believe the virus is real will be left behind. They will die alone. Such is their fate. The rest of us will proceed with caution, but continue on. Along with the rest of my family, I now have my 3rd shot. If needed, I will get it annually or bi-annually. I had 0 side effects other than a sore arm for a day, same with the rest of my family. My daughter and I have asthma, considered an underlying condition. There are many underlying conditions which mean one qualifies for the booster. My husband is a doctor, so also needed a booster. We have gotten annual flu shots for years, no big deal. All of us must get lots of vaccinations before allowed to go to school. Few parents object to this since the alternative is risking horrible disease exposure for one’s child.

Actually, I forgot about those infected who don’t pass away, but end up with long Covid and a long term disability. Many will have to endure a disability for the rest of their lives due to being infected by Covid. All because they were afraid of a vaccine or were making a political statement.

Every body… think positive thoughts for the Commonwealth of VIRGINIA. We face a crucial crossroads in 9 days, and may return to a 1950s southern mentality if the Gubernatorial election goes the wrong way. Even the way COVID vaccines are handled will be in jeopardy, not to mention abortion, education, the environment, health care (other than COVID), and all other twenty first century progress we have made. Liberal and Socialist are four-letter words, and the most hateful slurs being used against the delegates running on the democratic side. A couple of the republicans are lawyers who are actually defending some of the January 6 terrorists in court. (It’s on the record: “They had a Constitutional right to voice their opinions and participate in a protest.”) Virginians voted for Biden over that orange thing by 10%, but right now the two Gubernatorial candidates are running at dead even. We may turn red again, after 8 years of blue, and 4 years prior of purple… NOOOOOO!

I have already voted, because I will be working as an “election official” on November 2. (It’s a volunteer position. Virginia Beach has 100 polling stations, with 8 people working at each station, so, obviously, we are not full time employees.) Early voting started in September. Believe me, the political ads are vicious on all sides. If you believe it, Terry McAuliffe is a socialist who wants the FBI to investigate all parents who attend school board meetings, and he wants to free murderers from prison. His opponent (who actually did attend one of the most expensive private schools in VA) says he plans on raising teacher pay. What he doesn’t say, is that he plans on allowing vouchers to private schools syphoning public money to raise private teacher salaries. He also plans on stopping Planned Parenthood, and getting rid of much of the progress at the state level, from the affordable health care act.

“…murdered by some unvaccinated idiot.” Or by some vaccinated but still infected person. It is an upside-down world that blames the spread of disease on an unvaccinated person who is perfectly healthy.

Only a few GQPs (mostly Fox News talking heads) realized that now their anti-vax stance is killing off mostly their own base (since most people who are hospitalized and dying of COVID are anti-vaxxer GQPs)… but even the Fox News talking heads are ignoring it because they’re afraid of the GQP base and because they still believe in their alternate reality…

The Reich Wing isn’t worried. They think they have their thralls so well indoctrinated that all they have to do is accuse the dead people of Disloyalty.

Because, if they were Loyal, they would still be alive. Ipso Facto. Also Ipso Fatso.
