Leonardo is shown here painting with his left hand, but he was actually ambidextrous and could write R-to-L with his left hand while his right hand was doing L-to-R.
Rumor has it that Leonardo painted the model in the nude and then painted her clothes over the naked form in the portrait. From what I’ve read and heard about Leonardo, this is at least plausible.
Is it just me or does anyone else think the Mona Lisa painting is sort of boring? (..and why doesn’t anyone name their kid Mona Lisa? Mona Lisa Mcgillicuddy, for instance)
I taught myself to write with my left hand in Summerian, Cryllic with my right while speaking Mandarin. I designed plans for an anti-gravity ship that I sent to the President. I could tell you more, but my crayon broke and the attendants won’t bring me another one.
A couple of decades ago, I read a short story in which a couple hires a guide to lead them to a cave in Italy. In the cave are a lot of pieces of wood that have to be put together & 23 paintings. They put it all together & they discover they have a zoetrope made by DaVinci. A zoetrope is an early version of a movie. But it had space for 24 paintings & as they revolved the zoetrope, the figure in the paintings raised & lowered her top, showing off her breasts. The missing painting was of course the Mona Lisa & DaVinci had created the world’s first soft core porn movie!

I’ve known a few cats that would have made Leonardo blush.

Hmmm. Is she depicted as “Mona miffed by Muffy”? Or is that chagrin? Pique? Vexation? Befuddlement? Disquisitiveness? Resignation? …..

Bob Ross would have a happy little tree on the model stool.
