Well, Lizz got the pointy-nose guy with the tie from the council/board and the glasses guy has also gone into a car. Tie guy’s threats don’t impress Lizz much. She’s has seen worse.
I don’t see the heavy-set guy yet. Was the woman who lit Ace’s cigar back at the beginning Joanne? If not, I don’t see her, either.
Tracy is resigned to a never-ending battle against this group. I suppose that’s reality.
Given that the evidence they presented to the DA only brought them a warrant for theft of services from Diet Smith Industries – for planting Elliot – it looks like the police are unfairly persecuting the Apparatus and even a poor lawyer should get them out. Come on, MCU, that was the best you could do in years of gathering material? Someone has to be on the take. If you waited you could at least get them for tax evasion, unless they reported the 70 million in treasure uncovered.
So Lizz was on the scene after all, but again just a glorified extra; and with the whole raid sequence cut so underwhelmingly short, there wasn’t room anyway to feature her or Lee (who’s probably also there just off panel).
1-STOOGE 1: I DATE HOTTER CHICKS THAN YOU ON A MONDAY NIGHT!
2-GLASSES STOOGE: NO HE DOESN’T! THE LAST TIME HE HAD A ‘HOTTEE’, CHICKS WERE WEARING BOBBED HAIR AND SAYING “23 SKIDDOO!” Wait. You got the hair…
3-DT: Hmmm. Just how old is Doll? Now that I think about it, every time we all go out for a beer after work, she gives the same knock on the door and once we go in she always orders “hooch” before trying to find Bix Beiderbecke on the jukebox.
Shadows everywhere? Well like Mad Magazine said in Trick Dacy..They’re easy to draw. Looks like we might be ready for the next rehash with a long dead villain.
Tough guy MCP meets MCU. The feisty but stupid Male Chauvinist Pig in panel 1 should know better than to call Lizz “girl” and threaten her: she’s the MCU officer who has him in handcuffs, and if so inclined she could see to it that he had some little accident (such as, I don’t know, maybe running headlong into a police baton?).
Glasses-guy in panel 2 is more realistic, probably more experienced at being arrested and then baled out or simply released (Tracyville does seem to be modelled on Chicago, eh?).
Tracy’s thoughts in panel 3 seem uncharacteristically pessimistic, but such is a cop’s life these days….
Caught in the act of having a hit, the person being hit going states witness, tapes of the leadership discussing the hit and trying to take out Tracy. Mumbles holding a gun on a cop. What level of evidence do they need in this world to hold someone? Flattop isn’t dead, he must be the mayor.
The accountant seems to be calm and cool. However the same cannot be said about his comrade. If the media had been present, this guy would be saying police brutality.

Lizz needs to cinch those cuffs tighter … much tighter. Tracy needs to stop being such a goody two shoes and let Punjab handle the worst ones.

Looks like everyone in the building during the raid are in custody, except for Ace and Doubleup

Are we finally done with the day that began about 40 strips ago, when Briar Rose was told about the fake apartment?

They’re still hiding his face, but Tracy has seen it, and hasn’t registered any surprise.
