How to think like a kid, vs how to think like an adult.

One of my peak visual memories is trying to hike down off Mount Jefferson when a thunderstorm blew in. We were in the middle of a hail storm like I’ve seldom seen. Hailstones the size of popcorn hitting all around us and bouncing in all directions. And of course, getting under a tree was contraindicated. I had a towel over my head and my partner had my daypack over hers. It was about 5 minutes that was very like being inside a popcorn popper. Awesome!

Yes, “peak” experience on Mount Jeff was intentional.

Just because Mrs. Olsen “shot down” his statement doesn’t mean she doesn’t have an imagination.

This time, she should have just gone along with it.

If she were imagining dancing on Michael Moore’s dandruff laden shoulder should she be corrected or indulged? Are only cute fantasies encouraged? That would be unimaginative.

Children imagine better than adults because they are not yet limited by experience.

Example: Sun visor in the snow? No snow in eyes but cold wet hair. Pfft.

I’m with her. It’s actually a lot more interesting than being in a snow globe would be.

I had a killjoy teacher like this in elementary, an older lady close to retirement. No sense of humor, tired of kids, and would shoot down any attempt at a joke or lighthearted banter like Mrs. Olsen did.

I especially like the part where the giant outside my snow-globe picks it up and shakes it… traumatic brain injury is the best!

I also had to look up Stormy Kromer. Wouldn’t it make more sense to wear the similar-but-smarter style with the actual earflaps that actually fold down over your ears?

Doesn’t matter which type, earflaps folding inside or out – just so they’re functional. Like thus: https://www.amazon.com/Brandit-Lumberjack-Winter-Black-Checkered/dp/B07XCQK4J6/ref=asc_df_B07XCQK4J6/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=550155524806&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16760159770742901223&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028806&hvtargid=pla-881368866167&psc=1

Best place to learn what it’s like inside a snow globe is from outside a snow globe.

Actually, he only learned what it’s like to try to share imagination with someone without it. You can know what it is to be blind if you have sight, you can even experience it to a degree, but you can’t fully know what it is like not to have a faculty at all if you have it yourself.

I know someone who is like that. It can be very frustrating having a casual conversation with them because I’m very imaginative and can also be a bit hyperbolic.
