Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I’m still curious about what actual encounters the Cat News Team had with Dr. Scuttles. How did they know he was ‘outrageously mean’? Did he write scathing editorial letters to the station?♥
I would argue that the kitty team has better stories than Orson Wells. Sure he was a great actor and and all, but he can’t compete with a team of professional cats.
OT but adorable :) I got some photos and a short video of Sultan stalking the wild grass out back :) They’re on my Insta, my name there is pammwhittaker if you want to see :)
Dr Scuttles is asking if anyone has ever high-fived a ghost. Do I recall that in one or two of the ‘attic’ strips here? I’m not good at finding old strips, but maybe all would be forgiven if the news crew would give him a story on that on his twitter feed… Just sayin’…
I would love to see Dr. Scuttles host his own, Cryptoanimal, show! Then I can snicker as he finds tuffs of deer hair, in the woods, and swears that it belongs to bigfoot! ( I did see a show like that, once, it was hilarious! )
If you had been around since the Triassic period, you would attitude also. Damn kids, always tapping on his tank. All Dr. Scuttles wants is a warm rock and few bugs to nibble on (Jules better be careful).
I did not expect the resolution to be that quick or that sweet, but it was great. I love how even Burt has a comment on our testudinate doctor. Hopefully they will combine broadcasts again when the new neighbors come.
Hmm – it seems Dr. Scuttles is asking for input down in the “Latest Tweet” box:

Have you ever high-fived or kissed a ghost? I want to hear from you. Reply to this tweet with your true ghost story. RT, if you can. I can’t interview folks in person right now, due to Covid and the fact that I am a snapping turtle who lives in a large plastic kiddie pool.
Many years ago, I lived in an apartment above a guy who — no matter what the weather — would go out shirtless to pick up his newspaper every morning between 5-6 am, while loudly singing “OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MOOOORNING!” Annoying at times? Yes. Good neighbor? Also yes. You take the good with the bad, and it was mostly good.
Right now three of our cats are loudly demanding lunch. Dry food and some thawed plain salmon. I tried serving some real smoked salmon from a First Nations smoke house. They turned their noses up. Cats can be Philistines.

Oh, good. Flame war avoided.
Loud is not necessarily bad. Good to know.

To be fair, Dr. Scuttles is cold-blooded.

Glad that Tabitha’s taking the high road, which should be easy for her, as she lives upstairs.

Did Dr. (Fred ?) Scuttles move here from Benny Hill’s community?

Still, it sounds like Tabitha wishes she could change them.

Just when I though I couldn’t love Dr Scuttles any more, you go and turn him into a cantankerous ol’ grump which is just so cute in an animal.

Dr Scuttles was a bit reminiscent of Welles in “A Touch Of Evil”.

LOL, prehistoric Orson Welles.
I love Goldie poking her head into the shot. Has she officially met Tabitha yet? For some reason I can’t remember.

Mr. Welles did have better Stories, that’s a given. He also had better Diction, and a commanding voice.
Top that, Mr. Scuttles

One wonders why since BCN declined Dr Scuttles’ suggestions for stories – why didn’t he start TN (Turtle News)?

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Lupinium: I’m going on my morning run. Anyone want anything?
Puckmosis: Yes. Would you mind checking to see if The Royal Procurers are back from Afar yet?
Lupinium: You got it.
Thomios: And can you ask Arachna if the locusts have a plague scheduled anytime soon? We’re running low on spider treats.
Sometime Later
Lupinium: Arachna says the locusts are on winter break right now, and don’t have a plague scheduled until the end of February.
Thomios: I guess we can make do until then.
Lupinium: And the Water Cat Brothers said they’ll be out fishing next week. They’ve had Grumpy Turtle visiting with them this week.
Elvis-Anum: I’ll bet they’ll be glad to get out after a week with a grump.
Lupinium: I don’t know. You get used to it.
Elvis-Anum: Of course, I am only grumpy at appropriate times.

“Boisterous” is better than “mean” – good to know.
Also, Tabitha is recognizing that the two stations work together as a single Team, rather than rivals – that’s huge!

Is the mysterious departing tenant going to be taking Dr Scuttles with him/her/them? Or will he be hiding out to stay in the BPH?
