Well, it was pretty clever and imaginative on his part. I’ll give him that. But he must have known in the back of his 6 year old mind the teacher wasn’t gonna fall for that one…..

Isn’t this school’s curriculum rather too deep for first grade??

I assume it isn’t a class for gifted children.

Actually saw that happen once. One of the first mainframe laser printers had just been delivered and the hardware guys hadn’t turned the set the fuser correctly. When you opened a listing all the characters fell off the top page. If you laid your hand or arm on the bottom page the print lifted when you took it off.

Present day and age, America has High School Seniors that would not understand anything that Calvin just said. Calvin used 5 three syllable words in his narrative.

Can you imagine what kind of excuses Calvin would have come up with dealing with remote learning? Of course, with his tendencies, I’m not sure the school servers, or even the internet as a whole, would have survived the experience.

Maybe if Miss Wormwood taught history at an actual first grade curriculum (the way she does with English and math), it wouldn’t be as hard on Calvin (though of course, Calvin does have trouble with first-grade arithmetic anyways).
