I’m not sure if Dr. Man is based on a real person, but I’d like to think so, and that the real Dr. Man is as nice as the comic version. We need more good people like him in the world.
But you must keep patching her up. The humans can move and take their cats, but what will happen to the RCO crew if the house is allowed to fall to ruins?
Queen Bee: I am Titania, Queen of the Great Pyramid Hive. For generations my hive has been producing honey, but no one has been here to take it. Now we have so much we don’t know what to do with it.
Violet-Ifa: My fellow Royal Procurers can help with that. But I must swear you all to secrecy. Do you swear?
Puckmosis: Not in front of the kittens!
Violet-Ifa: Alright. Just promise you won’t tell.
All: Promise.
Puckmosis: Do you know anything about the Great Pyramid’s history?
Queen Titania: We have a great many stories handed down through the generations. We really miss the Joyous Chef, Floofnet.
Lupinium: We’ll have to introduce you to Thomios some time. Do you know of any collections of stories?
Queen Titania: There was a whole roomful of scrolls not far from here. Try the first corridor to the right.
Sometime Later
Wally: Look! There’s a symbol of a cat with a mallet on this wall!
Lupinium: How do we find out what’s behind it?
Puckmosis: We’ll need help from the Royal Maintenance Crew.
When we lived in the Caribbean some streets didn’t have names, instructions to find us included, turn right after the Arco supermarket at the pink house!!! happy days!!! Hope the house gets the repairs it needs!!! Of course, nothing is more important than those salmon treats!!!
The only way to stop having to patch old homes is to do a complete gut and remodel. I have done a few and they are expensive and hard if you have to live there while they are going on. Essentially, you are building a whole new house. However, when you are done, you don’t have the constant repairs for a long time.
I have a similar situation and at the same time not. MIL died in August and I am P.R. for estate and need to sell the house but the city says it is worth more than it is based on condition. It needs too many repairs to sell for value and the Court says I can’t sell it for what it really is worth without spending money to prove value. There is no money so it is a catch-22 and I told the Lawyer I never wanted to do this. I told them to transfer it to my late loving wife and my son since he inherited it and then he can do what he needs to do. This was never supposed to happen this way, it was supposed to go to my late loving wife and she would have been able to do whatever she wanted with it. Try to avoid Probate Courts if you can.
OT- Goose. I had to return him to the shelter today. After 5 months he still insists on biting and scratching. I just couldn’t do it no more. But the good news is that because he was surrendered for behavioral problems, I can adopt another kitty. Will be meeting one tomorrow. His bio says he loves to be held, he’s 8 months old. Sounds purrrfect to me
O.T. – 8yr BCN Anniversary tomorrow, March 12th!! http://www.breakingcatnews.com/comic/everything-is-broken/
I remember the before BCN days as dreary, dismal, without hope or laughter. But then along came Georgia bringing joy, laughter and fun into our lives and creating an environment where like minded and not so like minded people came together to create our amazingly compassionate community.. the strip started out running on only Mon & Thurs. There were weekends that I prayed would pass by quickly so we could see the Thurs cliffhangers resolutions on Mon. Thank you, Georgia for being courageous and vulnerable, for putting yourself out there without any guarantee thar BCN would become as successful and well loved as it is. Special thanks to Ryan for being so supportive of your work and dream. Georgia, we love you and are grateful for the joy you bring into our lives every day. May you become as successful as you would like, may you enjoy prosperity, love, joy and good health and may you never tire of writing BCN!!
It’s snowing like crazy outside. Forecast is for 2-4 inches. The roads and sidewalks got warmed by sunshine and warmer weather, so for now it’s just sticking to the grass and bushes.
We just got some more fish treats. Ulka, our 10 month old, has learned that clawing her scratching post is equivalent to pulling the lever on the treat dispenser. We’ve never had a trainable cat before. I’m not saying she’ll ever learn tricks, but she doesn’t claw the rug or the furniture when we’re around now.

I, too, don’t want to lose the Big Pink House. Hopefully the estate will continue to fund it. Dare I hope, even renovate it?

Maybe the cats will find some hidden treasure that’ll be able to help fund repairs!

We need to start a GoFundMe appeal. The Big Pink House is a national treasure.
