Axel is back! Can Fay be far behind?!?

I hope not. It’s been over 4 years since we’ve last seen them.

Hmmm… I wonder if Axel is dating Fay?

Long time, no see, Faye from teen theater club’s crush.

For those who were wondering about Fay. . .

I like the way Luann describes Axel and yet manages to leave out his eternally-pursed lips, by far his worst feature.

Ah. It’s Axel.

Haven’t seen him or Fay since 2018.

Couple of interesting new characters back then.

I wonder if he and Fay are still an “item?”

Or has Fay moved on to someone more (A-HEM) “mature?”

Well the three week arc ended in a weak gag, but Puds is back home.

Luann and Bernice appeared in the same strip for the first time in forever.

The Luann.Bernice dynamic probably hasn’t improved much, but it hasn’t gotten worse either.

So, all in all, that’s something.

Looks like Axel has grown some. It would be interesting to see if Axel and Fay are still together. Their arc ran in April 2018.

I thought that we were all going to see Stephanie explode because she got screwed out of her portion of the reward for Puddles…

I may be the only one, but I was not a fan of the Fay arcs. I just didn’t find them of interest to me.

I was hoping Axel would show up again. Distinctive guy. I remember Luann imitating him so Faye could practice talking to him.

Is Nil and Axel related?

I still prefer Luann tutoring Knute but Axel could be interesting and of course there may be Fay.

Axel is still 13 even if it has been a few years since we have seen him. He was a nice boy but very laid back except for his interest in theater. There he excelled.

Someone should have told Axel from little on up that when he drinks his Pepsi® from a bottle, his lips are supposed to stay on the outside. Now it is permanent.

2nd job? Working with teenagers? Luann already has experience.

Luann says she’s a bit nervous…But proceeds to joke and laugh about an Axel from her past.This strip is so poorly written its embarrassing.Yeah yeah I Know…“Don’t read it then right?”

Several commenters are wondering whether Axel and Fay are dating. (Presumably, by now Fay is no longer grounded for her stunt of May, 2018.) Luann will probably wonder about that, too. But if she’s wise (which, as we know, is not a given), she won’t mention Fay unless and until Axel does. Lu already has her work cut out for her earning Axel’s trust after her indiscreet remarks in panel 2.

If things go well, though, perhaps Luann will make a second, and more successful, attempt at having a youth theatre program this summer, which in Luanniverse time could be just one year after the summer after the summer of 2017. But who would she get to help her with it now that Pru has moved away?

Axel is a boring kid with a bad attitude. Give him about 17 more years and he’ll either lose the attitude or become familiar with the local courthouse. Fay, on the other hand, is like a budding Steffie, big on makeup and stalking cute guys.

As the British would say, Luann dropped a brick…

and like that the last story is like a rain cloud that left a Puddle that soaked everything and moved on…

Axel is back! Still with ducky lips. Just taller. Doesn’t Greg know ducky lips aren’t attractive? They might be popular plastic surgery option for many Hollywood celebs, but honestly, they are not attractive.

I’m now wondering what subject Luann is helping with.

With that obnoxious punk, Luann has her work cut out for her!!

Maybe she can enlist Les’ help regarding discipline, huh?

As much as I dislike the idea of Luann becoming a teacher, I’m glad she decided to ignore Bernice’s advice and start trying the ungrateful job of helping a teen with his homework. It’s good to see Alex again, this could also be the way to see Fay again and both of them could push Luann back to a theater stage. Because the best future works for Luann continues to involve theaters and acting.

Good God… Just like high school…

Ducks seem to like them. I like ducks-and since their “lips” are part of them, I guess I like them as well. Some of the comments on the board drive me quackers (not yours); on the other hand, there are some with a great sense of humor that quacks me up

Luann is already starting off this session on the wrong foot – the one in her mouth. At the same time, though, still good to see arcs featuring Luann, who, judging by this start and with Mrs. Fogarty, leaning towards her teaching vocation. Wonder if this is a paying position?

It’s taken me a few minutes, plus a few of the other folks commenting, for me to remember, though vaguely, this Axel character. And Fay (Faye?) has been mentioned as well. I think that she was that very shy girl. Anyway, looking forward to seeing where this is going to go.

What a convenient coincidence.

Who? I’ve completely forgotten who that is. Guess it doesn’t matter. Luann having a familiar character as her first student is a good enough way to start this storyline.

Well at least Luann is beginning this new arc in her usual state; hopping through life on one foot, because the other one is in her mouth.

Luann really needs to stop blathering out everything that come into her pretty little head. She needs to think before she speaks. Rather like us commentators.

My memory doesn’t go back that far. I vaguely remember someone named Fay, but not Axel.

I was hoping today’s comic was going to be about Puddles getting lost for the third time because everybody really liked that storyline.

He at least showed up…..

Well the little Gen Y or A? Axel, but if course he question is whether Faye I’d far behind? Is she the same more her, or something going through the hormone rushes of puberty. And the mom although Faye is the one I’m most interested in.

He’s still 13? Sheesh! Time warp? Hope Fay has at least matured a bit. =:-o

Axel looks a little different from when he last appeared…looks like he got a new cap, and he changed his clothes! And, the lenses on his glasses are darker.

I certainly hope NOT. This Axel is only 13 years old! And despite his outward attempts at coolness, he’s still a little kid!

Lu – OK – Little Ms Smug. Fay has a boyfriend and you don’t. Luann needs to get out of the house more and adjust to real world stuff. For starters, summon up Apology Girl.

Can we get a quick flashback sequence to their first meeting? Or highlights of their past interactions? I sort of remember the name, but that’s it.
