The problem is that intelligence ADDS and stupidity MULTIPLIES. So it’s important to keep the Stupidosity ratio below 1… a hard task.

I don’t have figures to back this up, but it seems to me that smart people have fewer children.

I think it’s because dumb people don’t believe in family planning, unless it’s scheduling a vacation.

I’m pretty sure smart people can multiply 26×24 faster than dumb people can. (It’s (25+1)x(25-1) = 25^2-1 = 624.)

Might be the difference between wise and smart too. I’ve got a Phd in physics but the wisest thing I ever did was have a family.

How do you get that smartitude?

I don’t think that it is that they are multiplying, but rather that they are getting louder. In the past when an idiot would spout off, they would only be heard by a few people. Now when they spout off they do it through sources that lets them be heard by hundreds which then encourages more to spout off, and more hundreds to hear it.

So sadly we have always had idiots. Sadder now, it is almost impossible to avoid them. Sadder yet, they are trying to take over.

The school system is failing them.

There was a science fiction story by Cyril Kornbluth called ‘The Marching Morons’ that predicts this situation. In the future, the world is full of morons due to a combination of intelligent people not having children and excessive breeding by less intelligent people.

Dumb peoples is smart enough to use calculator and multiply faster, eh.

Politics does bring out the stupid in people.

When you’re surrounded by stupid people, your IQ will keep dropping by the second.

At the rate this country is headed, I blame the parents for neglecting to guide their kids and the school curriculum which is sub-par and getting simplified…..at every turn…..

Govt does NOTHING to correct, fix, enhance, or change anything….it’s been decades now….

I think that meter would have more credibility if “stupidosity” was an actual word.

No increase, but for decades stupid people were encouraged to keep it to themselves. Then along came the Orange Menace and he encouraged them to speak out. Now the Senate GOP has no shame in appearing crushingly stupid in an attempt to pander to their handlers and their base.

I believe that premise to be very true.

If we took away daytime talk shows and the TLC channel, a significant portion of the stupid people would die of starvation.

All the students are disbelieving their professors and doing the wrong thing, just like some voters I know.

It’s because we have too many laws that protect stupid people from doing stupid things that kill themselves and thus stupid people are multiplying exponentially!

1st world nations don’t have enough children to maintain their populations. So France must get non-French immigrants to do the work. Then they complain about the destruction of French culture. (Substitute Germany, England. USA, etc.) I think it’s the availability of good birth control.

Smart people have 2.4 children, to get the best fiscal return.
