The hate still won’t go away — maybe the anger — but not the hate.

Some people in history should never be forgiven. Inner peace comes from knowing that you’re superior to them.

The truth is that we need to learn how to forgive, but not forget. Forgiving means that we can not hold it against the person ever again. We do not forget it so that they can not do it to us again.

Rat is going to forgive others to the extent that they will begin to hate him. Rat’s ultimate revenge

Hate is corrosive. What works much better is disdain. I don’t care what a mess you are, just so long as it doesn’t splash on me. Not even enough to figure out what kind of mess that is.

forgiveness is a challenging concept for certain!

To Err is human. To forgive divine. Everything else is Rat.

If we forgive others, God will forgive us.

Ongoing internal hatred tends to hurt oneself, not just the people that it is outwardly expressed against.

Rat, you’re about to learn more new words, like retaliation and escalation.

Try Prozac instead. Or do what Goat does and drink rivers of melissa tea.

Rat is the poster boy for world peace and understanding.

Forgive and remember.

You can hate what they did (the sin) but forgive (even love) the one who did the thing that you hate (the sinner).

Hate is a poison. Hating someone is like taking a poison and expecting it to hurt the hateful person. You cause more harm to yourself than to them. They don’t care if you hate them anyway. Sometimes, that is what they want or they wouldn’t behave the way they do.

Rat will never love anyone. He’ll hate everyone and everything forever.

Hate is a knife with a curved blade; as we attack our enemies we stab ourselves.

The key to inner peace is MYOB, and live and let live. If other people’s choices etc don’t directly affect your life why get bothered by it?

My old granny used to say that we Irish were long in memory, but short on forgiveness!

OK Rat, let’s start over…

Forgiveness doesn’t mean reconciliation. If, for example, a Christian woman forgives her husband for repeatedly beating her, she’s still justified in divorcing him in order to protect herself.

Hate the sin, love the offender.

R.M. Nixon once stated that you can’t hate someone you have no respect for. Not so sure about that. Sounds a bit like something he got out of a fortune cookie.

I have found that in my life I have been able to forgive, but never to forget.

i’m with rat – the key to achieving inner peace is RECEIVING the forgiveness of others but holding grudges yourself!

I don’t understand hate. I understand a dislike and distain for someone. I understand not trusting someone or not wanting to be around someone but I don’t understand actually hating any living being. I guess I am just weird.

Hate is difficult to carry around. It is a very heavy load and requires a lot of nourishment. Disdain doesn’t do much to change things. Now, if you learn how to carry love around, it scares the hell out of most of those that HATE. Sometimes it actually improves the situation or the relation.

Forgiveness is a virtue, Forgetting is dangerous. Keep a list.

You can still choose to move on and let go, even if you choose not to forgive.
