Uncle Junior was about two years older than Daddy. When Daddy was learning to speak, he called him Goody. The name stuck but only for parents and siblings.
(This is how so many commonly come to be called Bubba, little siblings who can’t pronounce “brother.” At least Daddy was original.)
As a little tot, one of my grandchildren took Taekwon-Do. She decided to do a defense scream while coming unseen toward me. My heart’s never been the same.
Shouldn’t there be some sort of prohibition / Of youngsters placing their elders on exhibition? / Sometimes all we want is a bit of privacy, / Not put on display for the world to see. / Do our simplest activities or habits seem to you / Like those performing monkeys that you see at the zoo? / Kids, we love you; you’re our hearts’ delight. / But now and again, just let us stay out of sight. / If you can do that, then here’s what I’ll do; / Never show that picture of you, on the bearskin rug, naked, aged two!
With all the chat about W.C. Fields I looked up a web site that has 25 quotes. Man, that dude was funny. There are several other sites shown in the search.

I found the one quote about Philadelphia under consideration, but he had several and he was not nice to Philadelphia.
“All things considered, I’d rather be in Philadelphia”
It is not on his headstone but was proposed by him for his epitaph during an interview.
