Only if it was political and directly paid for by the candidate. Nothing that other organizations put up had to be accurate. Now I am not sure that even candidate spots have to be accurate.

That last panel could be printed on every page of any magazine.

Or put as a placeholder by my browsers adblocker.

I have a friend that lives in the Villages, Florida. He loves it. MY Mother was in advertising, she loved it.Neither one of these is for me.

You ever listen to Old-Time Radio and those commercials? They tell you to take Sal Hepatica – a laxative – for a cold. Or “whenever you have that logy feeling.”

He’s right. Just take a look at “snake oil” ads from the 1800s.

The very point of the Rolling Stones’ song, [I can’t get no] “Satisfaction,” was/is Madison Avenue lies. Using the correct detergent, smoking the right cigarettes, and driving the right car doesn’t get no girl reaction (or if you think R&R is just about sex, “girly action.”)

Old Gold – Note a cough in a carload!

There really are Dutch masters at Dutch Masters. (A particularly funny one, since the name refers to the painting on the box, not the tobacconists).

P.F. Flyers help kids run faster and jump higher! (Or was that Keds?)

Wonder Bread helps build strong bodies 12 ways!

Miller Lite – Tastes, great, less filling.

I could go on and on……….

It has to be true if you read it on the Internet, or so Sasquatch claims.

My husband is a fairly intelligent person. He knows that advertising is often misrepresentation. So why it is that he buys things and then is shocked that it is not as represented – even though I have reminded him of the last time this happened? And then I have to return it for him.

My dad taught me this when I a child and I am always very circumspect in checking items I am thinking of buying and then decide it will not be as represented and don’t buy it.
