Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
âIt was a dark and stormy nightâŚâ well, not yet, but Susan was sure that it would end up as such. And she was permitted some poetic license, after all.
Julianne was in deep thought. Sheâd been desperately trying to figure out a way not to go to Tuftâs University and study medicine, for she knew in her heart of hearts she was longing to go to East Carolina and party with The Pirates!
She gathered everything she needed to write her great novel, and then it dawned on her, she couldnât read nor write. On to the next hobby, sewing sounds perfectly wonderful and exciting.
If youâre a writer, then you know this fear, / Imparting on paper what to you is so clear. / Itâs a terrible penance / To compose that first sentence. / Get that and the rest will follow, never fear.
Apparently, not all early American classrooms were simple log cabin affairs outfitted with uncomfortable wooden benches. Little House On The Prairie was total BS!

/// Susan Walker Morse stares into space
with a far away look on her face.
Her Pa, the inventor,
here chose to present her
as The Muse of revise and erase.
/// Thus, this lovely young girl holds a pad
made for sketches an artist would add.
But the pages seem bare.
If thereâs anything there,
itâs in code. (Dits and Dahs from her Dad.)

Impromptu Improper Lamericks
Sweet Susan sat on the veranda, musing
About today, on the River Cam cruising
With the young, rich Thomas Arbuthnot
Who tried what a nice girl should allow not â
His right eye was quite black with the bruising.
.
It was not something she had encouraged,
(And she hoped Tom was not really discouraged).
He remarked the many layers in her dress
And it caused her quite some distressâWhen he sought her bottom without demure-age.
.
It was all rather tense and exciting
Having brothers, Susan knew about fighting
But where on her Thomas she hit
She laid a soft soothing kiss on it â
Along with a lot of contriting.
.
[Dear Diary:]
âIâll ride with Sweet Tom in his carriage
And no more will his motives disparage
We may even hold each otherâs hands
As we survey his ancestral lands
And (dare I hope), talk impending marriageâŚâ
