Many of the cartoonists are commemorating Charles Shultz who drew the Peanuts strip… today is his 100th birthday. Besides the fact that Watterson is not drawing fresh strips, he really didn’t need to do anything because Calvin and Hobbes is a tribute to Peanuts in and of itself.
Considering all the Peanuts accolades today, I’m reminded of the Peanuts kids on the bean bag chair within inches of a large furniture style television set.
This doesn’t totally define ‘Generation Z’. Just the ones our lazy corporatist media think are worth covering. The young people of today doing anything worthwhile are probably too busy to worry if they are getting attention.

You’ll have to wait for life on that too, Calvin. Food is happiness. Ask Garfield.

Maybe some peanut butter crackers, but replace the peanut butter with horseradish; that’ll wake Calvin up for sure.

The idea is that we’re all supposed to “pursue” happiness, not lay around waiting for it to come to us.

Growing up in Northeast , Ohio, we loved the Saturday morning cartoons. We raided the frig, ate cold pizza and Rice Krispies! ☺️☺️

I hate to tell you, Calvin: the meaning of life is to run as fast as you can to stay in one place, but we never succeed.
