2 dollars is apparently pretty cheap these days (the average nationwide is between $4 and $5 per tooth) My family didn’t do the tooth fairy (or Santa/Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, not even birthdays!) but according to the article it’s gone up quite a bit the last few years
I remember when my child lost her first tooth. She was so excited. I was bereft. I said, “I was so happy when your teeth came in as a baby. I am struggling with being excited that they are now falling out!” I got over it. I still have some of her baby teeth.
Granny Tooth fairy probably put the bean back in the bag with the rest so it can be soup in the future. I love the sweet games adults play with kids to make growing up easier. Tooth fairies make scary things like losing teeth easier to take because the child gets a ‘reward’ for passing that milestone. It’s pretty traumatic to think you’re falling apart at that age, so the ‘Tooth fairy’ story eased that fear and made the kid look forward to shedding the rest of their teeth for the reward.

What’d be more interesting if it was a rare Thomas Jefferson two dollar banknote.

The Tooth Fairy had to hire some helpers… and they’re not all that well trained yet.

Wonder if it occurs to Nelson to try putting a white bean under his pillow for the next few nights. Worked once so….?

Get over it, Kid. Try it again tomorrow.

Nelson will need to be extra careful in eighty years when the tooth fairy comes around offering to sell him back some teeth!

That little baby tooth might very well come out in the end. The Tooth Fairy understands, “S— Happens.”

And bad with her money! Just imagine how her fairy associates take advantage of her generosity!

Just wait till he finds out and comes back to get a real tooth.

Would have funnier if the Tooth Fairy had left two dollars in Monopoly money…

Hang in there, Nelson.

As I said yesterday, when I was a kid the standard price was a dime. Boy, the inflation is killing us!

Two dollars will buy a whole bag of white beans.

The tooth fairy works in the dark Nelson and goes by feel.. which incidentally, means you should be sleeping in at least pyjama bottoms.

“Pawpaw, I met Santa!!”
“Did he believe you were a good little boy?”
“He DID!"
“Must be a fake. The real Santa would have known better.”
“Oh, yeah. You’re right.”

Two buck for a tooth these days?? Wow, I must be old. I only got quarters for my teeth. Inflation is worse than I thought.

Better hope the Tooth Fairy doesn’t come back with a pair of pliers.
