I think, when the construction began, it must have said: “construction site for elementary school” or something like that! So how did you get the idea that you are getting built up to be an art institute or something else?
My first elementary school (we moved when I was in 2nd grade) became an old folks’ home. It was really strange the first time I visited my grandmother when she lived there. The outside was exactly the same, but the inside was completely different.
I’m reminded of a line in dickens a christmas carrol. describing scrooges house and its location, it looked like it had come in here when it was a young house playing hide and seek with other houses-
Time to close all of them, except for one High School in each town for sports and sciences. This will ease up on car/bus pollution, salaries, maintenance of these buildings, and sell the properties of schools not in use for the property revenue across the whole country! On an EBITDA report this would be a gold mine!
Don’t feel bad, little schoolhouse…there’s a place in Dublin called the General Post Office. You might think, a post office, so what, but this building has a place in history. During the Easter Rising of 1916, the place was shelled by the British. To this day there are still bullet holes visible in the walls. Maybe you will be remembered in history as well.
School, you are cool! All of the schools I went to when I grew up are gone, either sold or torn down, or one burned down. If it wasn’t for school, then I would be a nobody out on the streets because what was inside kept me busy or I learned a lot or other things that I could never get outside of school. For the years I went to school, I was alone a lot, cried for friendship and a life of some kind, but it gave me some purpose and built a foundation for a future.
Hey, schoolie, look on the bright side. In your olden years, you’ll be a community center with people from all ages flocking to your doors. Forget postcard. Your walls will be covered in art. You may even be an art mecca.

But you’re in a comic strip, an honor most schools will never have.

You may be just an “ordinary school”, but you do more than most other buildings out there!

Too bad this school never made it into the specials or movies.

Maybe that isn’t the best example…

To an Architect who ever thought any building had life in it – this comic strip building might have a life in it.

Yes, but so many smart minds have come and gone through your hallowed halls over the years. You should be very proud of yourself….

Some day people will stop and say that was the school of President Charles Brown. Perhaps I’m a little over optimistic.
