Like many of us, Ted’s days of running are long past.

Baby steps uncle Ted. I learned a long time ago the treadmill at the gym is now for brisk walks only. I have a knee injury from many years back; overall it’s fine, but if I overdo it the knee tends to swell to twice its size.

I’m cool, calm and collected. I don’t have the energy for anything else these days.

Or like the chorus of that Toby Keith song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldQrapQ4d0Y) “I ain’t as good as I once was; but I’m as good, once, as I ever was!”

I had Runamuck as a kid. Not as cool a Transformer as you’d think, to be honest.

I remember when “The Birds” would come on T.V. back in the early 70’s. The T.V. guide described the movie as “Alfred Hitchcock’s chilling tale as to what might happen should our fine feathered friends run amuck.” One of those weird memories that has stuck with me!

I presume run amuck means to run amok in a really dirty mud puddle?

Just because we are older doesn’t mean we don’t really enjoy life. Truth be known, I think we enjoy it more. We, however, are usually not subject to or follow, modern trends. Party on……

Uncle Ted knows his limits. I am surprised at Brutus – it of sounds like he is considering running amuck himself. That is hard to picture. Would he skip a tie one day or wear fashion socks? Leave his hat at home?

Only Brutus Thornapple would consider two marshmallows in his hot chocolate instead of just one, as “running amuck.”

The reality here though…. is that the “AMUCK” still happens! That is GOOD! Whether fast or slow, is relatively speaking, immaterial, IMO. I personally have as a 2023 goal to “AMUCK” more than I have the last few years.

Reason #146 that I don’t have a pet. You have to get up early every morning to walk a muck.
