I think they CAN get there without lying. But it’s rare for someone to be that stupid AND likeable enough to be elected.

Lying is a requirement for politicians. Question I have is how did he get through two runs for the same office last cycle and this one without those self appointed guardians of democracy (media) discovering this? What was the other party doing, while we’re on the subject?

Gets worse, claimed his mom died in the 9/11 attacks: https://www.rawstory.com/there-is-a-seat-in-hell-waiting-for-this-man-george-santos-falsely-claimed-his-mom-died-on-september-11th/

    ’Representative Richie Torres (D-New York):

’George Santos pretended to be a gay Afro-Latino Ukrainian Brazilian Catholic Jew whose mother died on 9/11, whose ancestors survived the Holocaust, whose employees died in the Pulse club mass shooting, and whose net worth rose by millions overnight. Am I missing anything?

‘The House of Representatives cannot and should not seat a snake oil salesman like George Santos who is under federal criminal investigation and who could face an imminent risk of indictment. Pass it on.’

Where was the non-right wing media? Where were the political reporters? Where the h3ll were Zimmerman’s oppo researchers??

As despicable and awful as Santos lies are it is even more jaw droppingly astonishing that he was allowed to get away with them until AFTER he won the election.

Is it possible that George Santos tricked his voters with lies in order to get elected? Isn’t that fraud? And doesn’t a felony disqualify him from office.

I think the word “Republican” can be replaced with the word " any" If one thinks that only one party is good and the other is bad, you have your head in the sand and been drinking the cool aid.

At what point do we, as Americans, demand that our elected officials play by the same rules we do? If any of us lied on our resume the way this a$$hole did, we’d be fired on the spot. I am so tired of watching the “law & order” party give the middle finger to the rest of us, not to mention our legal system. It’s beyond criminal.

It’s like the late “Bother” Dave Gardner once quipped, “I may not always be right, but by God, I ain’t never wrong!” The end always justifies the means, but for Republicans only. If the Democrats do it, it’s despicable.

Republicans lie about everything all of the time.

Traitor Trump has admitted in the past that he lost, yet he continues his crazy lying rants.

‘What are the consequences?’ Trump insists the media stole the election from him in new rant

Donald Trump offered a convoluted explanation to claim the 2020 election had been stolen from him in a Thursday morning rant. The former president misrepresented internal deliberations at Twitter about a decision to block users from sharing an October 2020 New York Post story containing material from a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, which Trump and his allies claim was requested by the FBI, but so far no evidence has emerged of any government involvement in that decision.

Fox continues to lie about the Hunter story as well.

While Santos may well get investigated, he will likely be sworn in as Congressman on Jan 3rd simply because he won. Just like Lauren Boebert (CO) ultimately won reelection (albeit narrowly) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) was reelected (hopefully narrowly). And will hold office until 2024 when he comes up for reelection. The GOP in the House is devouring its own with Greene sniping at Boebert and McCarthy bending over backwards to be the new Speaker. Once they’re sworn in a few weeks, it should be quite a show.

Big pharma and GOP allies aim to sabotage Medicare drug price reforms

The pharmaceutical industry and its Republican allies in Congress are openly signaling their plans obstruct at every turn as the Biden administration looks to begin implementing a recently passed law that will allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices for the first time in its history. In November, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and several other Republican senators introduced legislation that would repeal the new prescription drug pricing reforms, which Congress approved earlier this year as part of the Inflation Reduction Act—a measure that Republicans unanimously opposed.
