Yes, folks, for doing lousy things to you, look first at your friends. I think Elizabeth may need a few enemies, who might treat her better than her friends do.

A friend in need is a friend indeed… just not specially when they butt into your crush crisis without your permission.

I suspect that Miss Edwards is familiar with everyone’s handwriting.

I think Elizabeth will find out. Because, isn’t that Elizabeth sitting in the desk right in front of them? Wouldn’t Elizabeth be able to hear what they are saying? Especially when one of them speaks in conversation loud enough to require two exclamation points!!

It’s hand written isn’t it? Teachers will know their students hand writing and writing style, (word choice, spelling errors, and so on), since she has to correct all their papers.

This would be a good time for Dawn to distance herself from the actual note writing. Candace wrote it, so she takes the fallout.

I think the best thing to do here would be for them both to go up to the teacher’s desk, and either ask to see her privately outside in the hall, or very quietly admit to her what the note is, what they’ve done, and ask her to please not read it out loud in class (as some teachers are wont to do as punishment). Then, if the girls were sincere and polite, the teacher also might be willing to ask Anthony to stay for a moment after class, and simply explain to him that the note was given to him by mistake, and then rip it up. And then Candace and Dawn immediately come clean to Liz.

I’m a little afraid to see what is actually going to happen, and the mess everyone may find themselves in.

Based on the fact that Granthony, most likely, has studied thousands of samples or Elizabeth’s handwriting, he’ll know that she didn’t write the note.
