7-year-old Faheem Williams, the boy’s overwhelmed caseworker lost track of his family and ended supervision without checking on his well-being and that of his two brothers who survived but who were severely neglected and abused. The federal government stepped in to supervise and investigate possible other cases.

I do not consider any uninvited furry houseguest “cute”.

Maybe mom ought to educate Elizabeth about Hanta virus and other nasty diseases carried by mice. Mice are cute, no argument there, but they can also be lethal.

You people need a cat.

Speaking as someone who’s had mice even in a scrupulously tidy kitchen, I’d have happily gone at them with a hammer if I’d been fast enough.

Judging by Elizabeth’s expression in Panel 1, she’s the one who sprung the trap this time.

That speaks volumes.

April’s not making a mess. She’s participating in an educational program designed to further her spatial skills.

Take the grater out of the low cabinets. No good can come from playing with that.

One time, when i couldn’t sleep. I cleaned and waxed our kitchen floor. The next morning, my mother slipped on it. I didn’t even gat a “thank you” for my effort!

And then there’s April.

April doesn’t chew holes in the wainscoting, does she? Hope not.

The mouse is a feral creature. April is Elly’s property. April was a result of sexual intercourse between John and Elly. Ergo, she is their responsibility.

Perhaps the line should have been “crap in my kitchen” rather than “make a mess”.

Mice defecate and urinate all the time. Their scent trail attracts more mice and the cycle continues.

I really don’t find her all that cute.

Difference mouse spreads germs.

Here around Flagstaff and much of the western US we have prairie dogs. Cure critters, but occasionally a colony will become infected with Bubonic plague. Cute or not, the colony has to be destroyed. We had an infected colony on the west side of town, but it was upstaged by the new kid in town: COVID-19.

Being cute has saved many of us.
