Ironically, I think that kind of stuff in media is more “adult” than the sex, swearing, and other raunch you see in typical R-rated comedies like Seth Rogen movies.

In fact, the behavior depicted in “adult movies” requires at least a somewhat mature body, but mostly darn juvenile mentality.

Just as well……

Insurance, car registration, fixing the plumbing, job interviews … all that R18+ stuff.

Snap! I just found myself explaining to someone here in S. Europe (English not his first language) what an “adult film star” is.

Back when there were newspapers, when kids saw things like that about movies they went in by the score.

I remember once when I was about 6 years old. My mom & I were walking along Main Street when we passed the movie theatre. There was a poster for an animated movie, and the characters were all cats. I love animated movies & cats, so I asked my mother (a movie-lover) if we could go see it. I was confused that she would say no, that this was a “grown-up” movie. The title: “Fritz the Cat” (Google it)

Don’t even get me started on a book that has everything from slavery to violence to sex to genocide: it’s called The Bible. Mostly the Old Testament, but even the New Testament features the gruesome death of the protagonist.

Responsibility is sadly overrated.

The US is still a Victorian country where nudity is not allowed on TV but the most horrible violence is. And they wonder why we have mass shootings
