Paper maps are just better when you’re exploring, you can take more in at a glance, you can use your fingers to get an idea of time-distance in the travels.It’s hard to get that overall look on a phone.. it’s different when I’m on my bike going somewhere new (or in the car where I have a dedicated Garmin GPS).
I have to agree with Frazz; I like to scroll around Google Maps, but there’s something special about paper maps. I save a lot of the maps that sometimes come with issues of National Geographic, but it bums me out that fewer issues come with maps these days.

The description on these is topographic maps but they are actually more relief maps. But they still have great detail.
