Even the venomous ones aren’t going to waste venom on something too big to eat unless they feel threatened. And bigger ones like that are almost all constrictors rather than venomous.

If seven out of 100 Oreo cookies were poisonous, I’d eat the other 93.

Hand out the Oreos. When seven people get sick, you can eat the rest.

In Australia, snakes are probably 93% poisonous. Any Aussies out there with statistics?

IF you knew WHICH ONES WERE POISONOUS. Statistics say, you have a good chance of eating a poisonous one, if you do not already know which are and which are not.

Though I usually steer clear of all reptiles, snakes especially, I’d recommend distancing yourselves from this one as his eyes are too close together.

In college we celebrated the end of midterms with a round of ice cream parfaits. One guy saw a fly pressed against the glass down near the bottom and was totally cool. He ate down to where the fly was then took it back for a refund. We sure knew how to raise heck back then.

Oreos all look alike. Snakes don’t. As mentioned, they have different shaped heads. Also, colors, I think, can be similar but not exactly the same. For myself, I just back off and take another route. I prefer not to guess if the snake is more scared of me or not. Where I live we have almost no venomous snakes, and places I have hiked I ran into a few things I chose not to assume one way or the other. They had the right of way in my mind.

To deter theft, the farmer put a sign up: “One of these water melons has been injected with poison”. Over night someone crossed out the “one” and wrote “two” above it.

Odds jump to 1 in 3 in Australia! Most bites occur when the snake feels threatened so leave them alone they will leave you alone. The second most common venomous snake around here is the Red Bellied Black Snake, very beatiful to look at by the way, so @cmerb please forgive me for not taking your advice!
