From Lynn’s Comments: The “super glue of life” line has been repeated many times by health care professionals, teachers and others. It feels good to have made a useful comment.
Used to know a guy who totally disagreed that apologies were good and helpful and kind and etc. His idea was that if you’ve done something wrong, do what you can to fix it, but apologies are unnecessary. He was stupid about a lot of other things, too.
My mom used totell me that she just had to forgive people who had been mean to her or hurt her feelings in some way. It made her feel bad if she was mad at someone.
I don’t understand people who demand apologies. I totally don’t get the concept. If a person really feels remorse and wants to apologize, they likely will. Forcing an apology just seems very selfish. Explaining to someone why you are hurt can lead to an apology or better understanding, but a demand is rarely a good thing when feelings are hurt.

As the last panel indicates, “just about anything” is not everything.

Not always, Miss Edwards. Many “apologies” are totally insincere—just ask killers sentenced to death or life-without-parole.

Not everybody is willing to accept an apology, some people never grow up.

As Captain Nathan Brittles would say, “Never apologize, it’s a sign of weakness.”
Actions speak louder than words. Take some time Elizabeth and spend it with Dawn.

An apology would be a very good start to mending the friendship.

I really dislike the coloring. Johnston has very nice, expressive line work and the coloring muddies and obscures it.
I think this era has my favorite art, the way she depicts people. Not super detailed, extremely expressive.

Where have all those teachers like her gone? Seems like today all our children get are radicals with blue hair and nose rings….

It’s a two way street; you’re also not obligated to accept an apology.

Elizabeth learned public school is all about social status and getting dates, not wasting time with math, science, geography and all that other crap.
