i wonder if he has tried pickleball?

He obviously subscribes to the saying about having to grow older but not growing up!

It’s never too late to grow up!

I don’t mind losing in games, but I do get competitive as soon as it looks like I could win. Even so, if I still lose, I’d only be a little bit disappointed.

There’s a difference between growing up and maturing. I completed the former 50 years ago… still working on the latter.

He’s right, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it

If he’s still playing in a tournament at 76, he’s already a winner.

I lost both of my biological grandfathers before they turned 70 (I had several step-grandfathers). When my dad turned 70 I cried, thinking I was going to lose him “any day now”. “Any day now” turned into 20 more years, and it was only due to Covid that I lost him.

This strip is decades before that whole pickleball craze.

When I was a child, I was told to act my age. I didn’t do it back then, and I’m not about to start now.

I’m older than his grandpa.

He’s probably a Leafs fan too.

he doesn’t act like a baby and throw a tantrum like certain other player does.

That’s a great attitude for an elderly man. He’s still growing, even at 76. I’m still younger than him at 73, but like him, I have much yet to do.

He’d be 123 years old now.

True. Learn from failure and try again

So, 76. I.e., born in 1900. Same as my grandparents, or pretty close.

Some other 76-year-olds could take a lesson from this.

When I was 12 I was over 80, now over 80 I’m 12 going on 11…

Began reading Peanuts when I was Chuck’s age. Now I’m almost his grandfather’s age. ugh
