It is happening right now: "April 26 (Reuters) – Montana statehouse Republicans on Wednesday silenced Democratic transgender legislator Zooey Zephyr from floor debates for breaking decorum after she said lawmakers who backed a ban on gender-affirming healthcare for minors would have “blood on your hands.”

Under the motion that passed with a vote of 68-32, Zephyr will be allowed to vote but is barred from the House floor, anteroom or gallery for the remainder of the legislative session, scheduled to end on May 10."—https://www.reuters.com/world/us/montana-transgender-legislator-censured-after-blood-your-hands-comment-2023-04-26/

This is excellent political satire. The ones who are the targets of it will not recognize themselves while the rest of us will understand the humor albeit a bit morbid about our future.

The Heckler’s veto is not consistent with a functioning civilization.

No person has the “right” to not be “offended”. But that subjectivism and oppression is the standard tactic of the tyrants controlling our society now.

The fake outrage and offense is a cover up for their own criminal and offensive behavior, which they proceed to project onto the innocent.

99% of the time, it is a leftist Democrat who tries to shut down opposing views with the “I’m offended” crap. Of course, Obama and Biden have enjoyed massive help from Big Tech in shutting down opposing views [not to mention the 99% Democrat media.] Elon Musk has helped even the ‘playing field’ a small amount by removing a hive of leftist censors and ex-FBI agents that used to have free rein shutting down conservative viewpoints. Remember the government “truth” of: “The ‘vaccine’ will prevent catching and spreading COVID-19.” Big Tech kept this lie going for 2 years, until even Democrats noticed ‘fully vaccinated and boosted’ people caught COVID easier than non-vaccinated people. [I figured it was because gene therapy mislabeled as a “vaccine” DOESN’T work as a real vaccine would!]

“Canceling” is just another word for “ignoring the drooling knuckle-dragger shouting nonsense in a public forum.” I will always enjoy my right to engage or not engage with whomever I want (including companies with whom I don’t want to do business). The kids call it “adulting.” Morons pejoratively call it “being woke.”

That works only if there is a target to be achieved. If you want to claim offendedness of something you must first deny your interest in it.

“I don’t care, if you call me a racist, but …” […] “Calling me a racist, are you? I AM OFFENDED!!!”

To be offended is a choice. I chose “NOT” to be offended. Also for some one to choose to be offended for a culture or group that they are not attached to is just plain dumb.
