Sam’s pointing at the last time one of these arcs included an interesting, fresh, villain, or entertaining story. So he’s looking back to maybe 2015?

O.T. YET A’GIN: AI does not understand my characters. I worked up character detail references, including 360 views and facial expressions, which I could refer to in writing the three connected books.

Well, Yakage, the sedate dullahan who helps the leads in the first and third books, looks NICE…but (how do I say this?) in her sleek black slit-to-the-knee skirt, she looks more like she wants to kill James Bond , more stomp Barney the Dinosaur into the pavement than to weave helpful magic spells! She looks GREAT, but not what I need.

As a friend of mine used to say these two shown here would be considered “flashlight guards”. That is the only thing their agency would issue to them.

What, or who, is it that Sam has spotted? We are left with a mini-cliffhanger and must await tomorrow’s strip for (we hope) a revelation….
