I used to like āHillbilly Breadā but since they donāt make it anymore, the closest Iāve come to it is the current 9-grain bread. It still leaves crumbs too.
I know a couple who are much like Earl and Opal. āEarlā and I often walk together, as old codgers tend to do, usually when āOpalā has other plans and āEarlāsā absence is greatly desired (think book clubs, bridge games, and the like). We were taking a break on a park bench one afternoon, and somehow the conversation had drifted to famous last words and/ or epitaphs, when āEarlā quipped, "Iād like my tombstone to read, āI canāt hear you.ā " I chuckled over that all afternoon.

I used to buy 5 grain bread for my lunches, and my youngest grandkid called it āpolka dotā bread because of the seeds on the crust.
