Gustav was impressed with the sculptor’s “Gustav Out Of The Swimming Pool” piece. He just wished the sculptor would have “exaggerated a bit” with certain details.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3147 (June 13, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there (awaiting Mr. Melcher’s approval) pointing info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 3 works by him have been used here, the November 26, 2013, strip being the prior. GoComics has deactivated the hyperlinks and removed the video and most new lines in my comment there; but, perhaps the text remains informative.

Paolo was known for the anatomical accuracy of his sculptures. Unfortunately, Ricardo, his model, wasn’t such a big fan.

/// Alessandro Vittoria posed
with his sculpture, and its pose disclosed
that it won’t show its face
’cause it fears the disgrace
of its wee genitalia exposed.
/// Or, perhaps the true source of disgrace is
to be found in two whole other places.
Painted statues are mocked:
One head’s missing, one’s blocked.
Can it be that he just can’t sculpt faces?
