Calling conservatives fascists is like calling liberals communists/socialists. There is a world of difference between the two, but some dance closer to the line then others. Really, the whole point is to dehumanize the other side, making it harder to ever come together as a nation or a people.

I wonder if Aldean would have the temerity to make records with folks like Sonny Terry or Lead Belly? If Aldean wants to channel patriotic violence, he could sing more than just the first verse of the national anthem. If he wants to show his espoused simpatico with the downtrodden “common man”, he could cover some of Guthrie’s protest songs (commentaries) — they are just as valid today as they were then.

Expect a flood of nonsense and lies from the left about thinks like Aldean and DeSantis. With the parade of rats jumping the SS Biden and more evidence surfacing regarding the Obama administration Biden bribery scandal, the left are going all out to distract.

Aldean is one of those all hat, no cow, cowboys!

Woody was a member of the Almanac Singers which included Pete Seeger. The group was under the control of the Soviet Comintern and between the German-Soviet NonAgression Treaty and the German invasion of Soviet Union was opposed to any assistance to Britain or war preparation in US such as the draft.I have always been a fan of both Seeger/Guithrie and still have about 25 CDs of their music.

I find it fascinating that if you don’t like what someone said, you call them something awful that they are not just to vilify them and cancel them.Like calling this guy a fascist. There is nothing fascist about the song. Does anyone know the definition and history of Fascism?

And just like so many right-wing “fighters,” he’s whining and moaning about “Cancel Culture” in front of a full auditorium, either wholly blind to the irony or wholly cynically using it to promote himself. Heck, it could be both! We’ve already seen that this crew can maintain contradictory nonsense in their heads as long as it makes them feel better about themselves, the poor little snowflakes.

A real “fighter,” a real “man,” would acknowledge the evil resonance of his video filmed at the site of a lynching, and change it because he’s got the guts and brains to learn. Instead, he just whines about being caught. Sad!

It looks to me as if the common property of both ideologies is authoritarian in nature, so that must be the basis for the name-calling from both Left and Right. Maybe neither is an adequate label to throw around?

Aldean is from Macon Georgia which is not a small town. His agents told him that appealing to the MAGA crowd is where the stupid money is and the agents were right.

Jason Aldean was born in Macon, GA (not a small town) and has a mansion outside of Nashville, TN (also not a small town). He has been criticized by Sheryl Crow (who was from a small town) and other artists for his video and song.

in my favourite jpgs I have the three comics that was done regardingR. Crumb’s take on Trump and shared them with two of my more aware granddaughters. they’re priceless. I also turned them onto John Gorke’s son Bottles Break that was done back quite awhile ago that mentions it’s name…I knew about the tRump’s a looooong time ago and tried to not step in it (so did my very wise mother who lived through the Depression)
