So that other “warehouse” was actually an abandoned garage? That explains why he had the car inside it — it was presumably easy to do. So, now Tracy and Sam are headed to the TV station, where the whole call centre is located and presumably Madsen is headed there, too, because he wants his money. Everyone may be on the lookout for Madsen, but it looks like Tracy and Sam may find him before the others do.
Just what will the inspection turn up ? Tracy and Ketchum headin’ up and movin’ out ! Everyone’s looking to ‘bust a (Mad)cap’. ;-p Nice graphics; not cluttered but enough detail to put us in the scenes.
This story is like one of those old Family Circus cartoons … where one of the little kids is bringing something in something from the backyard to the kitchen & goes there by way of the attic … with little cartoon footprints showing his tracks.
Well! All the “Old Time Photos” Wanted: Dead Or Alive – $100,000 REWARD! sepia-tone posters of Maddy from the ’90’s are presently being tacked up on every available telephone pole!…….
So back on July 28, Leech is waking up late to meet with Audie with a hangover and spotting a police car outside the warehouse/garage (whatever it is now). If everything that happened in the strip happened after that point to now, he could have walked the few blocks to the TV station (since they are in the same area of the city) if he didn’t want to drive over, and he could have met with Audie already.
So between the end of yesterday’s strip and the start of today’s, Dick went back in to put Anders under arrest for lying to a police officer, with more charges to come.
I’m not sure what Tracy could hope to recover from the confiscated Caprice—some fingerprints, maybe, or DNA evidence (except that in Tracy-Time DNA might not yet be “a thing”)? He notes that it"wasn’t far" from the TV station, and Sam immediately takes the cue and suggests they check out the station (which we believe to be the location of the phone scam boiler room). Panel 3, however, simply broadly conceals the nonetheless evident implication that “all roads lead to the TV station” and that Tracy and Sam, Audie, and Leeland Madsen may have a climactic rendezvous there!

This story is more torturous than a night in Gweedo’s barn or cleaning firestrikes bed!

Well one thing you can say about the writing: Even when the plot is moving very slowly forward, it still feels like filler.

1-DT: They just delivered our new vehicle…
2-…she’s a beut! SAM: I’ll say! I’m gonna call her The Pimpin’ Pumpkin! You know, because of its color and “we be big pimpin” when we roll up in it!
3-DT: You do and you’ll be gummin’ your next pastrami sandwich. SAM: I don’t chew anyway. Takes too much time.
