Notably, Trump was never arrested, nor read his Miranda rights, and although he was indicted, it was not for questioning the 2000 election, Georgia voting, or the 2016 election. (You know how I know? By reading the indictment.) And although he has the right to remain silent, like Donkey in “Shrek”, what he lacks is the capacity. It would benefit his defense in some of his cases considerably, since many of the things he’s said publicly have been incriminating. But he has chosen to speak anyway.

Now, he has been instructed not to communicate with any witnesses, but this isn’t the same being asked to remain silent entirely. This is standard language in any indictment; he’s been reminded of the illegality of witness tampering. He’s done so anyway, but so far the courts have been extraordinarily reluctant to enforce normal restrictions.

Last time I checked no one except the last guy had John Eastman draw up a scheme to let states throw out vote results & send a confederacy of alternate electors to overturn an election. He summoned a mob to DC & told them to go & make Mike Pence “do the right thing”. It didn’t work because Dan Quayle explained to Pence that he could only show up & open envelopes as certified by the states.

let it go, mike. backing a publicly exposed BPD individual is a losing fight. criticize something that even us fringe right don’t look at and SMFH over. he is rapidly becoming a “non-news” entity, in with the hollywood sex and scandal gossip. quit with the eye-rolling content, please.

“You have the right to remain silent…”

    1) Remain?!

    2) Trump says, “It’s mime; all mime.” Or he would, if he were clever.

Just out of curiosity, does a mob boss have freedom of speech to tell his/her underlings to pressure businesses to pay for protection? Do I have the freedom of speech to organize a bank robbery and send my minions to do the job? Did Kai Cenat have the freedom of speech to tell his followers that there was going to be a console give away in NYC?

Now, tell me how Trump’s freedom of speech is different.

Exactly like Biden, Trump needed “handlers” from day one … but for the exact opposite reason. Biden needs to be told to shut up because everything he says is either senile mumbling or nonsense ramblings. Trump should have banned him from social media the day he was elected. He needed to be told to shut up because he was TOO clear — and it totally p-ssed off too many people.

Mr. Lester. You have a right to say I’d like to kill that guy. However, if you hire a hitman, you’re going to jail.

    Seriously Mike?

Spreading lies and inciting to riot is not the same as “questioning the election”.

In courts, Trump’s claims may see the light,

A lawful pursuit, to set things right.

    But veiled threats and deceit,

    Defrauding’s not neat,

Lester’s notions veer far from the right.

Selective prosecution of the right is far too common. Many people, across the political spectrum, have criticized the DOJ. But few if any have been punished for their criticism like Timothy McVeigh, whose criticism of Janet Reno’s Waco atrocities was met with unrestrained fury. McVeigh’s cause is one that genuinely deserves to be championed by people like Mike Lester

Oh dear gawd, Lester. It isn’t the lack of ability to orate, it’s being responsible for what you say. Lies are lies! Back up what you say or shut the f@#%$ up. Obviously you don’t know the difference.

He didn’t “question the election.” He conspired to overthrow the election and stay in office illegally. It’s different.

Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000, but he ended up defeated when the SCOTUS declared he won the electoral vote in Florida (and the rest of the country). In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, but the Electoral Vote went to Trump. Trump was the fourth Presidential candidate to lose the popular vote but win the electoral one, the other three were Rutherford Hayes (1876), Benjamin Harrison (1888) and George W. Bush (2000). Also, in 2016, 49% of eligible voters didn’t bother to cast ballots that election (if even half of that number had turned out and voted for Clinton, she might have won the Electoral vote as well). In 2020, a record number of voters cast their ballots and Joe Biden simply got more votes than Trump. And his continued insistence that the 2020 election was stolen from the GOP was and remains nonsense. If the election was stolen, why did the Democrats lose nine seats in the House in 2020? Or, why did Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) all win reelection?

So…..if in late 2024/early 2025 President Biden has lost the election we can refer back to this day and say “Mike Lester is says its just fine for Kamala Harris to say the votes aren’t valid, she won’t certify the election because of suspected R tampering”. If we find out President Biden called on Secretaries of State to “find him another 11780 votes” we can turn to Mike Lester who will say “Actually, yeah, he’s just fine doing that”. If we find out President Biden inserted a group into Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and….oh let’s plug in Arizona, to claim they are the actual electors who want to declare Biden won we can turn to Mike Lester who will say “nothing wrong with that.”

You have the right to question it. You do not have the right to deny the results after all legal redresses have been answered.
