Not for most of these indictments, though I understand a couple of them have that specification. And, yeah, it’s a hard task to decide what anybody is thinking, much less a stream-of-consciousness grifter. But if that’s the job, then I expect Mr. Smith will find jurors who will undertake to do it. And it’s not impossible to get close. How do we usually decide what someone’s thinking? We look at how they’re holding their mouth and eyes. We pay attention not just to their words, but to their intonation. We look to see if they’re scuffing their toes on the carpet… (flash of insight?) Maybe that’s why the Trumpster Fire so much likes text-storms: You can’t see his eyes while he’s dumping on you.
You must listen to all the evidence presented and evaluate whether Trump is innocent or guilty.
.
It is obvious to everyone, including The Disciples, that Trump IS guilty. The only question is if and when the trials will be held, at which time he will be FOUND guilty.
Fall maybe hasn’t been paying very close attention. Smith’s scheme was to avoid charging Trump’s beliefs and charge him with conspiracy to overthrow the election, which is thoroughly documented by witnesses. Conspiring with other people to do something is criminal even if it doesn’t succeed.
This case DOESN’T revolve around Dump’s First Amdt rights. The charges are completely about his actions and only his actions. He doesn’t get to say, “But I was thinking nice thoughts !?!?!”
What lunacy allows this POS to run and get elected for president?
He’s plotting to Turn AMERICA into a fascist country where all the power goes to him!
The Plot
The basis for this effort is a political thesis called the “ unitary executive theory ,” long popular with conservatives , which posits that the Constitution gives a president the authority to control all executive action. It is a theory, one not codified in law. It has one recent Supreme Court case in its favor, but barely, vaguely, and far too narrowly to be a slam dunk. Even the Framers, when crafting our founding laws granting certain presidential powers, didn’t mean those powers to be unlimited. Indeed, many feared that a president would overstep those designated powers and become like the very king they had rebelled against. This is why they created a tripartite system giving each branch of government the power to check the other two branches. None of that seems to matter to these conspirators, dare I use such an appellation. It cannot be stressed enough: If Trump’s wishes come to fruition, regulatory federal agencies like the Department of Justice, the State Department, the intelligence community, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission and every tentacle of the Defense Department would all be under the direct presidential control of Donald Trump.
I’m done with all this sound and fury leading nowhere (although that’s probably the point; a trial in the court of public opinion). While “the gears of justice grind slowly”, this is ridiculous.
Also, I’m done with Trump. And Biden. They both need to exit stage left. Or in both their cases, exit stage right.
Hmmm, you do know he’s on tape, as in recorded, when asking to find 11780 votes. No witness/jury member will have to wonder what he was ‘thinking’, as if he knew how to think.
Ted just can’t get off this hobby horse. Trump could have believed in his heart of hearts that he won and there was rampant voter fraud. That does not give him the right to engage in criminal behavior to “right that wrong”. It’s not that complicated.
tRump thought “Just how much money can I make using the presidency in the ‘Art of the Deal’?”, and that was right after he was told he won after thinking he lost the election.
An insanity plea is his only way out. If he could find a doctor to lie about his “perfect” health, it should be easy to find a doctor to prove he’s criminally insane.
Not that simple, but Ted’s best idea of a general theme for all of the orange idiot’s shenanigans and resulting trials, he has taken this route several times on his DMZ piece.

Trump isn’t being tried for what he “thought”. He’s being tried for what he DID.

Strange how Rall and Varvel are in sync today! Trump utters every thought he has, so it should be easy.

Will it be on TV, like when Trump terrorists vandalized our capital?
I watched while a Maga took down the USA flag and put up a Trump flag, never forgive, never forget.
Americans need to see how totally insane lying loser traitor Trump really is.
Who cares what mentally ill Trump thinks, his actions should put him in prison.

There are legal standards for proving intent for crimes that require intent for convictions. Is this suggesting that proving intent is impossible?

Actions, not words. Orange Traitor’s actions clearly show him committing most if not all of the Felonies he’s indicted for in 4 separate cases.

Let’s be honest here, Trump could go with the “mental unstable” defense and that would be easily put up.
