So, we have suspect #1 and suspect #2 revealed. I imagine there will be more of them, but avenger09 has already gone to sleep, so he’ll miss that part. This sort of whodunnit is not amenable to much action.

I could see that Simpson might have mad at Watt, but not the other way around.

Nichevo sounds like the Russian word for “nothing”.

Maybe we have a Murder on the Orient Express dynamic going on here. Everybody hated Simpson, who was a crummy human being, & they all pitched in & killed him.

Yesterday we were told ol’ Vern was a cancer on the team and a lot of people hated him. Today we get two. Two is usually not called a lot so we may have suspects listed out for the next couple days.

Meanwhile, we should assume Vern was a GREAT player – you don’t keep a guy who causes that much bad chemistry around unless he really produces at his position.

The decedent was not very well liked it seems, the list of possible actors is sure to grow!

well, Nichevo lost money on the drug suspension, and Watt hated Simpson’s sister—not necessarily Simpson….

Dang the first person listed has reason to be upset, and the second person has an even more personal connection to him outside of the team itself… If this somehow keeps ratcheting up then I can’t wait to see additional suspects!

Hmm. So, both the up-the-middle infielders, Nichevo and Watt, had good reasons to dislike the relief pitcher, Vernon Simpson. That’s two-thirds of the DP combination, the remaining third being the first baseman, who is is also more likely to be left-handed. Maybe tomorrow our talkative (and as yet unnamed, BTW) manager will complete the double play and we’ll see a more probable suspect at first base….
