Hold up! The last time they visited Nowhere, they did it by simply not going anywhere. So, if they can get there that easily from home, then this means they can basically just teleport wherever they want, whenever they want. So Marigold had better pull a reason out of nowhere for why they don’t do that more often.
If you are nowhere, nothing can happen. But since you are something you need to be somewhere. Marigold’s rule makes sense in that respect. Because the somewhere you belong is where you have always belonged, home.
When Phoebe and Dakota are transported “home”, will they be transported to their separate homes or will they be transported together (with Marigold) to somewhere near their homes? Possibly the bus stop portal that they entered the alternate reality from. Will the talking cat be transported to their reality with them? So many questions.
Mariglinda: You don’t need to be helped any longer. You’ve always had the power to go back home.
Phoebothy: I have?
Scarekrota: Then why didn’t you tell her before? I could have been out of here a month ago!
Mariglinda: Because she wouldn’t have believed me. She had to learn it for herself.
The Sphinx Cat: What have you learned, Phoebothy?
Phoebothy: Well, I, I think that it, that it wasn’t enough just to want to see my parents. And it’s that if I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own backyard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with. Is that right?
Mariglinda: That’s all it is. Especially when there’s a unicorn in your backyard.

Sounds a bit like the Infinite Improbability Drive is at work here. Just look around and se if you can find a really hot cup of tea anywhere.

This whole arc reminds me of the Muppet Song “To Morrow”.

I wonder what the epic poet Homer (no, NOT the one on “Simpsons”) would have thought of this odyssey…….
