This cartoon in some version or other has been showing up for a couple days. Low hanging fruit. It was cute once. And topical of course. And sometimes clever. This one’s slightly different which is good, but it’s a little late off the mark.
We need something that excoriates the Thuglican House for being willing, even eager to bring government to a halt. Kinda proves that they don’t value it, eh?
GOPQ keeps talking about maintaining dignity in Congress. They set the standards: Santos; MTG yelling “liar” at a State of the Union address; Tuberville; Boebert playing coppafeel and vaping at a “kids-friendly” performance; the Frenzied Five about to shut the government down; and the beat goes on.
They should make the congress critters dress like the founding fathers did: tricorn hats and knickerbockers. And no women, of course. That way we could get rid of MTG and Booby.
It’ll be hard to take back Congress, because of gerrymandering, but it must be done, because the current House is like an insane asylum that has been taken over by its craziest inmates. The government shutdown that is 99.99% sure to happen at the end of next week will be the result of the House being ruled by these lunatics.
NOW, The Manchurian Cantaloupe is DEMANDING that the Heffalump Clowns shut down the entire U.S. Government just to “defund” the investigations into HIS TREASON AND SEDITION!!!
In other words, it’s more of his usual “To HE!! with America, I ONLY care about ME!!! It’s ALL ABOUT ME, ME, ME, MMEEE!!!”
Actually.. the dress code is kind of daft. Why should men need to wear coats working inside a building while women are encourage to show skin. Be a win for the climate folk as well if there was no longer a need to keep the thermostat set low to keep the men in coats from sweating and I’m sure the ladies would appreciate it a bit warmer too.
Loosening the rules has happened before. In 1994 Kentucky congressman Rep. William Natcher voted from a gurney to maintain his voting record. Both Natcher and Fetterman had legitimate medical reasons for what they wear.
More important than inflation, immigration, the newest Covid wave, and shutting down the government. Maybe, just maybe, more important than Hunter Biden.

Two political strips in one day positioning the House GOP as clowns. Are people finally catching on?

It’s not the cut of their clothes. It’s the content of their character.

“Looks like those clowns in Congress did it again. What a bunch of clowns.”
“How does he keep up with the news like that?”

When I hear of House clowns Fredericka Wilson comes to mind with her clownish outfits. Or DeLauro and whatever color hair she’s sporting today.

That was my thought. Seems to me that for a lot of people like Jim Jordan the clown suit is proper business attire for the work they do.

Our loony righty governor wears a shirt like an auto mechanic’s, or a McDonald’s employee, instead of a suit. The horror!
