The supermarket nearest my home already has a Little Debbie Christmas snack cakes display up, and all of the stores are selling eggnog. I wouldn’t mind the latter so much if it weren’t for the fact that I know from experience that none of them will have eggnog for sale days before Christmas. Apparently, Walmart, et al., do not believe anyone drinks eggnog at Christmas or New Year’s.
Before Halloween is a little early but I love Christmas “stuff” everywhere starting in November. The season goes by too fast and the earlier you start the better. That’s just me. Love Christmas and always have.
We live in the northeast where late November/early December can be brutal. Lots of folks decorate early but don’t illuminate until after Thanksgiving. Very different than stores pushing decorations to push selling. If it isn’t hurting anyone, who cares?
a couple years ago neighbor put upside down Santa in chimney on front of their chimney, and it’s been there ever since; even with giant Halloween spider on the gate.Waiting to see if spider comes down before Thanksgiving.
Tommie Copper underwear already has a jingle out there to the tune of “God rest ye merry gentlemen”. It seems it is never too early to desecrate a Christmas carol.
If we don’t put a stop to it, we’ll eventually be staring down the barrel of the 12-Months of Christmas. It’s one night, and one day, people. Enjoy Fall, enjoy Halloween, enjoy Thanksgiving, and enjoy them with your families. At least wait until December before going full Kris Kringle for almost a month. Contradictorily, celebrating it for 1/4 of the year makes the holiday less special, not more.
Could they do the same to anyone who mentions, sells, eats, drinks, makes, thinks about, writes about (including cartoons) or promotes in any way, shape or form, pumpkin spice before 11.59 am or after 12.00 pm 31 December?

It’s not the timing, it’s the tackiness. Some Halloween displays are pretty annoying, too.
But if they’re just eyesores, and don’t make a lot of noise, then live and let live.

That both hilarious and genius!
Make it a task force and add Halloween stuff that’s put out in stores in August!

As MAD Magazine put it in their classic article “43 Man Squamish”, loss of half the Flutney for rushing the season.

It is best to put up the yard and roof decorations before it is too icy and snowy.

LOL! There’s a few around my area who already have trees in their windows… and Halloween decorations on their front lawn!

They haven’t put their decorations up early, they just haven’t taken them down from last year.

I used to put mine up the day before Thanksgiving. Then leave them up until January 8th.
Now I don’t even bother…

Some people just have to much happy on their hands. Pre-halloween Christmas-ers need to be taught a lesson. We should Easter Egg their houses.
mistercatworks about 1 year ago
They just haven’t had time to take them down from last year. It takes six months to get all that stuff up. /s

There is validity in this toon. Some go over board. But at least they didn’t leave them up all year.

I don’t care about the decorations. Just restrict the sappy “seasonal” muzak to the last half of December.
