Nope. I’m betting that the similarity in appearance is coincidental.

The cartoon is suggesting that “peace” is a puzzle.

But I’m sure that the solution is nowhere near as simple as the puzzle pictured.

It didn’t take but a few days for the Israelis to abandon the moral high ground. With the understanding that a nation cried for retaliation and vengeance (cf. Americans after 9/11), perhaps now Biden can facilitate a sober reassessment. I can only hope sanity breaks out. Hope. Hope.

Problem is, Middle East peace looks more like a Gordian Knot.

Nice idea, but all I can say is.. Good Luck with that. There are currently too many conflicts in the world where at least one of the sides has no interest in anything but total victory of their “Cause”. And all too often victory for that cause assures a lot of power/money for the leaders pushing it. The most obvious are HAMAS, Putin, and Xi, but they aren’t the only ones. These days I’d include the Toddler Caucus.

What an embarrassment. It’s yet another blow to American prestige, yet another example of how the world no longer takes our nation’s president seriously. But can we blame them? One look at Joe Biden as he shuffles across the tarmac, one listen to his weakened voice as he tries to show solidarity with PM Netanyahu, is enough to strike deep doubt into even our staunchest allies. Wasn’t he supposed to be that “steady hand” in international affairs? Wasn’t he the guy with all that foreign policy experience?
