If Earl waits too much longer, he’ll have to take “a walker” across America.

why not both? People love a stranger walking into their town playing the ukulele. And they love him even more leaving that town.

I know a guy who, with a couple of friends, bicycled across the country, from east to west, coast to coast.

For Earl, it’s great to THINK about committing himself to this terrific feat – but DOING it is going to take some time to do (and he knows it!)

Just because I must: It is not pronounced “YOU-kuh-lay-lee”; it’s EW-ku-LAY-lay.

And you now know how to properly say at least one word in Hawai’ian.

Nice barn coat Earl! You’ll need that warm coat while practicing the uke in the woodshed after Pearl boots you outside!

A little late to emulate Kerouac or Steinbeck, Earl, and Opal wouldn’t stand for you practicing the uke in the house.

Such a journeyman should begin before age one with short steps and gradually increase the length of each stride. The journeyman is more likely to arrive at the destination.

This is the same Earl who refuses to leave his “perfect” space in the grocery store parking lot (wonder how much time he spent cruising the parking lot to find that spot that’s 71 steps closer than a more readily available spot.)

People often don’t realize how nice an instrument the ukulele can be. It’s a gentler sound than an acoustic guitar, but a well-played uke can still turn out a dynomite sound. Listen to this for example: >

I first saw this comic in the morning newspaper which we get on Wednesdays to get the supermarket flyers. It was in black-and-white and the odd thing was that it looked appeared as though Clyde had no right hand. That’s why a colorized version is better to capture all the details.
