Elly said, “Well the answer is NO!”

So this is what Elly worked out? She gave the puppy present to older sister Elizabeth, and April gets a doll which Elizabeth’s puppy almost immediately chewed the doll’s arm off?

Doh, maybe the sisters will share it looks like.

Don’t give puppies as Christmas gifts. They seem like a good gift but there can be “buyers’ remorse” (even if you adopt and don’t shop) in the period after Christmas. In fact, many shelters close off adoptions in the run-up to Christmas because they know that a lot of pets will be returnedwithin two months of the holidays.

Problem is that Christmas puppies soon lose their charm and children soon forget about them…then the puppy ends up in a shelter because they are abandoned. The puppy is hurt emotionally, yet no one cares…except the shelter staff.DO NOT get your child a puppy for Christmas. Every vet and every SPCA can tell you the horrors it creates.

Geee, even for those who haven’t read this comic when it originally came out, who didn’t see this coming. Guess my spoiler alert from a few days ago is no longer a spoiler alert.

SPCA’S and animal shelter discourage giving pets, especially dogs and cats, for Christmas. They receive those animals after the Christmas glow fades.

Even Elizabeth is looking skeptical!

So they do get a puppy? The last time he was mentioned the answer was a hard no. And we all knew that would change, but why did the reversal happen offstage?

Lynn forgot to include the little ‘presents’ that a puppy leaves.

Is that Michael – all grown up with a cuppa coffee ? And where is Farley? You would think they would be looking/watching the new pupper too.

We haven’t had a dog since 2006 and I haven’t raised a puppy since 1994. She was such a special dog that we haven’t had the heart to try again. Kittens, on the other hand, are a different story. We’ve raised several in that time frame. Currently we have two that were raised from kittenhood.
