Well, my birthday is New Year’s Eve. I don’t have any trouble forgetting to get introspective.

By coincidence both my mother and my wife’s mother had birthdays on Dec. 26. I feel a lot sorrier for those who were born close to Christmas than to New Year’s.

Eh. Those who would get introspective to begin with will do so regardless of the time of year.

December 27 here. I get lost in the afterglow off Christmas and the anticipation of New Year’s Eve.

Happens every day around my house. : )

When I was that age, I didn’t get introspective on my birthday, I just got presents.

What school age child gets introspective on their birthday?

My birthday is January 1st, my brother’s is July 4th. His was always celebrated, mine not so much.

January 2 for me, January 6 for my wife of almost 50 years now. We originally had planned a Jan. 4 wedding “just for fun,” but after realizing two major holidays, two b’days and a potential wedding annivesary would fall within a span of two weeks…….NOPE!! Now we celebrate our years of marriage at the end of September. We try to spend the changing of the year with family down south to avoid the snow.

Thinking in arbitrary units, like years, is a good way to fail to understand what your trends really are. Trends don’t pay any attention to the arbitrary time markers used by humans.

My birthday is January 6. You know, the day some peaceful tourists visited the Capitol with no agenda at all?

Naw it’s cool because what you didnt get for Christmas you can ask for for your b-day!

Having a birthday the end of August meant I got new clothes for school. I needed new clothes for Christmas since I was growing. There were no surprises since I had tried them on in the department store. Besides that, my mother hated wrapping presents so she gave that chore to me!

I was born in mid-July. This tracks.

I have 2 friends born on New Year’s Eve and both complain that that they have never had a birthday party

Some of us need to stay introspective, because if we forget our mistakes, we’ll repeat them.

I knew someone in college who was born on Feb. 29 in 1952 and is only now coming up on her 18th birthday.

There was a set of twins born on 31 December 2023 and 01 January 2024. They may have been respectively the last child born in their area in 2023 and the first in 2024.

One of my grandfathers was born on December 27, and my birthday is a week later. Makes you ponder what people were doing nine months earlier…

We all get introspective on those days? Nope, another of the many, many bad assumptions made by a kid in Frazz.
