Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I have just been looking at a site called “All the Hobbes and Bacon strips I can find”. This includes the original “Hobbes and Bacon” strips from 2011 and many other strips which are fanfiction of fanfiction. The last three strips show that Bacon has a babysitter called Robin and that Bacon and Robin have a very similar relationship to that which Calvin and Rosalyn used to have.
Hobbes: That explains why your Mom put a padlock on the powertool shed.
Bacon: Rats! There goes seventy per cent of our arsenal!
I can sit for hours starting into a wood fire……and I do! My wood stove in my garage stays lit from early November into April. I leave the stove door open most of time so I can enjoy seeing the flames as well as feeling the heat. I get great enjoyment from the four cord of wood I burn every season.
Now days that would be one of those Duraflame looks that looks like a burning loaf of bread and fills the house with toxic smoke as they die out causing uncontrollable coughing spasms and burning, watery eyes. Told to The Count by a friend.
Our new fireplace has no grate. You put the wood directly on the bottom and when it gets hot enough, a fan turns on and spreads the heat through the house
shameful hedonists! Yes there is more to life …… like chopping wood for your fire and shoveling snow ……..Your Dad can’t wait till your old enough for chores
Were there replacement panels not quite covering the bottom row? I expected to see them run outside to the snow to get the steam effect. Or perhaps it was a glitch in the algorithm for placing the daily panels. How I miss Watterson.
As a kid back in the 60’s, we used our fireplace to help heat the house in winter. My parents would sometimes get those color logs which burn in different colors. We would learn later that they really can foul up your chimney. One night we got a call from the neighbors that flames were shooting out of our chimney. It turned out to be gunk from a few color logs burning in the chimney. We got the chimney cleaned soon after.

Calvin, there’s rather a lot more to life than that, but, trust me, nothing comes close to matching it.

Hobbes warming his butt by the fireplace is just too funny! It reminds me of my Kitty.

Why isn’t there a screen in front of the hearth to catch live embers? Very careless of Mom and Dad, unless…
Is their homeowners’ insurance up to date?

I’ve been blessed with a fireplace growing up and now. Nothing like a fire in the snowy winter.

My dog Clio likes to lay in the hot sun, then come inside and flop onto the cool kitchen floor.

Yes… getting close to that time of year you do the final deep cleaning of the fireplace in getting ready for the warmer months.

Well, … collecting the wood … building the fire … heating the cocoa …

The ol’ cartoon “burn your butt standing too close to the fireplace” bit! I wonder what Calvin’s saying in the seventh panel?
Mediatech 12 months ago
There is, but Calvin won’t realize it until he’s about 10 or 12.

Correct for once! Today needs a fire!

My elderly grandmother would lift her skirts, and trap the heat beneath them. I’ve found it works, lol.
